Hi,
It was decided last night at the meet up that since I know the way, I'm leading a ride Smiley  Its a short ride to New Yankee's Tavern in Carlos, Tx.  Total miles is approx. 140 from my house.
When: Sunday, June 1 (I work Saturdays...sorry)
Time: Kickstands up at 10am, we'll stop at Waller County line BBQ long enough to call in our order (so we don't have to wait 2 hours for our food once we get there)
Meeting Spot: IHOP at Hwy 6 and 290.  If you want breakfast, plan to arrive at 8:45 or earlier.  If I get a head count, I can get us a table.
There are plenty of curves once we get off 290 and some beautiful scenery to boot.  Its a nice circle and the return side is less curves and more scenery through Sam Houston National Forest (aka The trace).
If there is any interest, I can probably get a map to get us farther north and turn the ride into 300 or so miles by going to see the Tiger Ranch?

Despite what I said yesterday, I believe I can actually make that one.  I'll see you there.

I know Vithar will be riding, possibly a friend of ours on his 900 Kawasaki.  I'm also hoping that the new owner of my former hyosung makes it out so he can impress everyone with it.
Waiting for more responses but we are definitely going, barring a Hailstorm Sat. morning.  Grin

The Tiger Ranch is just that...a ranch where they breed tigers.  Its north of Madisonville just off of I-45.  It ends up being an adventure getting there.
I'll have to plan that for another weekend.  Possibly get my friend Mac on his BMW thumper to lead the way since he knows the route.

I'm not sure I'll recognize you anymore.

For all the folks coming from down south...
Meet up for the trek to 6 and 290?  Where/when?  I'd like to make it for breakfast up there.

From all the years I took classes out at 290 and the Beltway, I found that the easiest way to get there from 45 was to take 45 to 610, west to 290.  So, I'd think someplace on 45 would work.

We could meet Tinman in Manvel and then meet up with you where ever you suggest.  If Tinman's agreeable, of course.

OK, so here's the proposal:
Tinman, Wizard, and Lyn-Del meet at the Chevron at 6 & 1128 at 7:30.
David and Mark meet at Best Buy at 7:45.
Both groups tag up at the Dixie Diner (now Classic Cafe) at 8.
Then we all proceed north.

Good?
Anyone else joining us?

what time would you be at waller county line bbq? That's at 290/362 in the shell station, right?
Then I could run straight out 2920 to 290 and meet y'all.

Assuming Kickstands make it up right at 10am, 10:30am should be a safe bet.  We'll be stopping for probably 10 minutes to place our order over the phone with new yankee's.
What are you riding so we can keep an eye out for you.
This is a good time to post my phone number:
281-384-3330.  If you find yourself running late, let me know.
See you all in the morning!  Oh...anyone wanting to "do" breakfast???

The four coming up from the south are planning to be there for breakfast at 8:45.

Got a second page going! You Houston folks know how to type! Just thought I would add to your bulk. Good to see so much activitiy!

October 5th is a Sunday. How 'bout heading up this way Friday or Saturday before and doing a ride with the DFW and Arkansas and Oklahoma riders. Good cause. http://www.pbtfus.org/rideforkids/calendar/2008/dallasfortworth08.html
