COTTONWOOD, Ariz. (AP) -- A bobcat has attacked three people in the central Arizona community of Cottonwood, including two men who were bitten by the animal after it wandered inside a bar.

Officers called to the Chapparal Bar arrived to find the bobcat in the parking lot, where they shot and killed it.

Tests were ordered to determine if the animal was rabid. It wasn't clear how seriously the victims had been wounded.

Cottonwood police say the animal attacked Monday when it scratched a woman who thought she had hit it with her car. Then police got a report of a bobcat acting aggressively toward a woman outside a Pizza Hut.

About 11 p.m. came the call from the bar that a bobcat was inside as patrons climbed atop bar stools to get away.

....riding season was just beginning...we had dinner out and wandered out into the parkinglot to the bike...it was a beautiful evening...so we decided to go for a nice little ride in the woods....we rode out of town...turned the corner...and there about 1/4 mile down the road...I saw this animal slowly crossing the road...as we rode closer I told Chili...look...is that a bob cat ?!?    ......shur enough...it was short and squat with the turned down ears..padded paws....but as soon as it saw us it quickly crossed the road and disappeared into the woods.....really wish I would have had the camera ready.....we saw a wolf one night also....comming home from Christmas shopping around 10 at night  in a driving snow storm down this dark lonely back road....all of a sudden my head lights light up this critter running down the road...I thought at first it was a dog...but it was too damn big...and fast....it zig zagged...then took a sharp left and ran off into the trees and was gone....gotta love living way out in the wilderness....

Ok, my Bobcat story!
Many years ago, read, late 60's I was a resident of W. Hollywood doin the rock'n roll music thing when, one night in my little apt, laden neighborhood, I heard a gawdawful screaming from across the street. Knew it was some kinda critter, after all, I grew up a desert boy in Az. I figured, no prob!!
Uh - - -  Problem!! Somebody had a pet bobber that got out of their pad. As i approached, so did it! As I rapidly retrreated, it rapidly advanced! This was when the screaming like a little girl kicked in! Guess there was no sport in it for the cat as he hung a U-ey, never to be seen again. Course I wasn't lookin anymore! Cool
