I bought a new Kawasaki Concours 14 over last weekend.  It is the first new bike I have had in over 20 years as I usually buy used.  My wife said that I deserved it (her sister is already married) and help provide the little convincing that I needed.

I really like the bike.  It is very powerful and of course much lighter than the Valk Interstate.  I now am debating on selling a Suzuki SV1000S since I basically need to have more room in the garage.

Congratulations Dave cooldude  You got the right color. I have wanted one of them for a while, great bike. The more you ride it, you won't want to get on anything else ( kind of like a Valk) smooth as silk and FAST. Be careful with all that power Wink

VERY NICE!  Excellent choice.  Those things are scary fast, so be careful (and enjoy)!

I've rode two and they are nice and smooth with plenty of power. That's got to be one of the ugliest exhaust systems ever installed on a motorcycle IMO...Maybe the new V-Max has it beat in the stove pipe exhaust department but its close...It's like they made these beautiful machine's and someone said " We forgot the exhaust " and someone else said " Here stick this stove pipe on it "   Sad .

Joe -

The exhaust is really ugly.  It has a catalytic converter inside it.  On the Concours 14 message board it is referred to as a "potato cannon."  It really looks bad if you take off the bags.  I may switch to a slip on after I get more miles on the bike.

Get a set of ZX 1400 headers that way you can do two pipes one on each side...Someone makes a " mod " bracket for the left side...I saw one at Deal's Gap that had Dale Walker HoleShot exhaust on it and it sounded sweet.

Good looking "Connie" there.  cooldude

If I were going for a new bike, that's the one I'd want. Motorcycle of the year! 2funny

After you've ridden it for awhile, I'd be interested in your opinion regarding acceleration, cornering, and braking (especially if you got the ABS model.)

Enjoy your new ride and be safe

Great pick on the Connie! I was seriously considering adding one this summer, but then my Standard was totaled and I HAD to get an Interstate.

Have fun and let us know how you like it!

Nice ride  cooldude I have been considering one myself. I was looking at leftover 09s and they were priced right.  I have no self control and will get into way too much trouble with it.
