3Wlonerider took us to the flight 93  crash site- a moving experience....
There is a lot of political sentiment on the board these days...
This is not a political statement - I am an American, I am a NY'er.....
This day, for me, will always be a day of sadness, a day of loss, a day of tears.....
God bless America.....those perished that fateful day...those responders to went to the aid of others and almost certain death....and those who fight for our freedoms.....
I will never forget..

Yea Deb. Rick took me and Chris to the 93 site coming back from the Blue/Gray ride. Very sobering place to be. I would like to visit it again sometime.

Years ago (before 911) I was in New Jersey for my cousins wedding. We could see the Twin Towers from out Hotel window. We thought about going over to NY. But at the las minute we decided not to. Now I wished we had. Would have been the last opportunity to see the towers before they were destroyed on that fateful day nine years ago........

I am a Korean War Vet.  I am patriotic.  I love my country.  I fly the flag 24/7/365.   I am not ashamed of this country. I am NOT politically correct.

We all should remember this day as another " day that will live in infamy"   Sept. 11, 2001 , we are at war!  No different than December 7, 1941.  Attacks on our civilians are no different than attacks on our military.

December 7th will always be remembered by me.  September 11th the same.  It is a DAMN shame that we have such apathy today.  One of the reasons that we won WWII was that everyone pulled their weight, everyone remembered Pearl Harbor.  We had good leadership in President Roosevelt and President Truman.

This day, September 11th is not the same.

My flag is flying today at half staff.  It's the only one of two on the entire block.  What a shame!

 Snopes says it's true.................

To all who watch Good Morning America, ABC s actions should be a slap in your face.

Subject:  ABC News Joins Obama - Bans American Flag Lapel Pins

ABC NEWS BANS FLAG LAPEL PINS

Barbara Walters said that this was going to hurt ABC bad.
As you know she works for ABC.

YESTERDAY THE BRASS AT ABC NEWS ISSUED ORDERS FORBIDDING REPORTERS TO WEAR LAPEL PIN AMERICAN FLAGS OR OTHER PATRIOTIC INSIGNIA.

THEIR REASONING WAS THAT ABC SHOULD REMAIN NEUTRAL ABOUT 'CAUSES'.

SINCE WHEN IS SUPPORT FOR PREVENTING DEATH AND DESTRUCTION SOME SORT OF A 'CAUSE'? SINCE WHEN IS PATRIOTISM TO BE DISCOURAGED?

I URGE YOU TO BOYCOTT ABC AND ITS SPONSORS AND AFFILIATES.

WE ARE SLOWLY LOSING EVERYTHING OUR COUNTRY STANDS FOR AND EVERYTHING OUR MEN AND WOMEN FOUGHT AND DIED TO PRESERVE!

PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO AS MANY AS YOU CAN.

THIS HAS BEEN VERIFIED THROUGH: http://www.snopes. .com/rumors/ noflagsasp

THIS ONE NEEDS TO BE CIRCULATED.. .QUICKLY

Bump

I passed the New Haven Fire department main station tonight.  Their ladder truck was in front with the ladder raised high and an American flag flying on top of the ladder.

I look back and remember all the American flags that were flying after 9/11, on cars, front yards, everywhere,  and now, nothing.

It makes me sad as I remember all the innocent lives that were lost and the men and women of FDNY, the NY police, NY EMS who tried to save some and lost their lives also.

It makes me sad to know that people don't remember the Flight 93 passengers and what they did to keep the terrorists from destroying our center of government.

It does make me glad that Fudgie posted pictures of the crash site of Flight 93.  Brian, as a member of the Group That Serves, knows the sacrifices that were made KNOWINGLY on the part of those that served that day in NYC.

I bumped this because it's an important post and should be back on page one for a short while.

It's too bad that denigrating and spiteful posts seem to remain on page one longer.

I want to thank everyone who has served, for their service to our Country, the U.S.A.
Wayne, you said it so well, I can't think of anything to add.
We rode this morning to celebrate the Pearland Little League in a parade in their honor.  On the way home, we stopped where our travel trailer is stored to pick up the big flag.
We rode home with the flag flying high, about 4 miles.

Thanks again to all who have or are currently serving this great Country.
God Bless the U.S.A.!
