Just bought a set of Two Brothers on evil bay. If I bid against a fellow VRCC'r, sorry about that. I got them for $350 plus $70 freight.

I've been running a set of custom pipes for a few years (Valk pipes that have had a 12" Cherry Bomb inserted into 4" truck stacks), but they just were not loud enough for me. It's been some time since I've done anything major for the lady, and feel a little giddy about a new chrome (although blued) play thing.

Thought the wife would wing me as the bike is at the stealer getting $480 pissed away on the front fork rebulid, but she took it in stride. Hmmm, it must have been that I was a good boy this weeked while the Monster In Law was here. If this is the result, then I may just dig a cave for the Mother In Law to live in here....

Let us know when ya get the Two Brothers on.

I'm not so sure they will be louder.

They are quieter than the Cobras.

Well they were in my case.

Be sure and put in new exhaust crush gaskets.

TBR's shouldn't be blued.  If it's light Blue Job or some like product should take care of it for you.

They're not really loud until you get over 3000 RPM.  Some of my friends don't support me in that assessment.   Smiley

....took my Two Brothers off a few years back, when a buddy of mine back in jersey built me a sweet set of custom pipes using my virgin OEM pipes...he welded in 16 inch "Cherry Bombs" and put a crossover in right before the back wheel....they were real quiet when he first installed them, but have mellowed out nicely over time....they do drone loudly when towing the trailer though....

....had the Two Brothers put on when I first bought the bike...never forget I went to pick it up at the dealers and they were putting the finishing touches on it...kid behind the parts counter goes....man...they had your bike on the dyno ....and it sounded like a fuc*ing funny car !!!

....I was like...really...and I turned to the salesman and asked...can you still hear the stereo ?....to which he goes...huh ?...and I asked again...can you still hear the stereo ?....to which he answered......I dunno....and shrugged his shoulders...

....it was March and the sun had set...I remember blasting home down the Super Slab at night....it was cold...and that baby was SCREAMING....for the next year I wanted to race ANYTHING that I came upon at a red light...and usually beat it....but the thing I loved the most was ...when a Harley boy would come up behind me at a red light and try and act bad...reving his pipes...then Id rev mine which were at least...twice as loud as his...and watch the  expression on his face change from one of glee...to fear....me and my buddy Johnny used to go over the river to a tiny town in Pa that is a magnet for bikes on the weekend...wed ride up and down the strip...him reving his Cobras...me my Two Brothers...the streets were lined with tourist and alot of bikers...and I overheard this Harley boy go after I reved my pipes....Thats a Valkyrie !....man...I felt so good...

...but alas my wife and I grew tired of them screaming in our ears where ever we went....the Mighty Mac Bridge is only 86 miles from us....and by the time we would get there ...our ears would be ringing good...course that was after an hour of ...steady 80 mph +  Cool

.....still got the Two Brothers though...one day Ill have the cash to get a nice Tourer and morph it into a nice little ....bar hopper..  Evil

I had TBR's on my last Valk.  Nice pipes, sound very good.  Not as loud as Cobras.

Cobra's are straight out the back.

TBR have a turn out on the end.  We used to call them weed eater turnouts.

The description certainly sounds like Cobras.  If they're heavily blued near the engine that would seal it.

C'mon, Joe.  Nobody's Cobras look like yours.

Joe has the prettiest Cobra pipes on the road.

Maybe they look more like these.

From the back, Cobras on the left TBR on the right.

TBRs up close and personal (Ignore the tire).

I had Cobras, they were slash cut and straight back as such:

Now I have Two Brothers and they are curled out to the side like this:

People that ride behind me complain less now with the two brothers.  Roll Eyes Cool

Cobra markets small baffles that will go in the ends of the pipes.  If you look into the open end of the pipe you'll be able to see the baffle if it's there.

If you don't have the baffles in they're a good addition.  They'll mellow the sound just a bit and your bike will likely run better than with open Cobras.

Hey Pharmboy,  I got an e-mail April (the one who sold me the two bro's) and she must be one of us as she went to the trouble to refund $12 as the freight was less than quoted. I'm impressed.

Hey Willow, I went to the Harley shop and bought a can of Blue Job. I should have the pipes tomorrow and will give them a shine. By the way, it was a little hard to "ignore the tire"....

Didn't Vance and Hines make some six into six pipes? Reason I'm asking a friend has what he says are a set on his bike. They are louder than the Cobras I had on the 97. Just askin.

Yes Sparky, April and Carman Allen are good people.  I have found them to be honest to a fault and Carman is is a craftsman deluxe, both with Valkyries and any kind of leather work.  I am looking forward to seeing them arrive this weekend for a ride in the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Area and surrounding areas.  If the line isn't too long, we hope to partake of a world famous Meers Burger.  On the weekend it is usually difficult to find a place to park your bike there.  Riders come from all over Ok & North Texas to ride this area and get the Big Meers Burger and top it off with home made cobbler & ice cream.  I expect that mentioning cobbler & ice cream will bring Strider here in no time...JTL 2funny

Please tell them I appreciate working with them. Perhaps you could post a picture of their bikes.

Sparky, it was Carman's bike that won Extreme Modified and Peoples Choice awards at Inzane X.  He may not ride that one this weekend.  He is really kinda shy about pictures and accolades, but a strait shooter and a good man...JTL
