So, here is where my ignorance shows. Embarrassed I am not computer illiterate, nor new to them, but I am having a heck of a time posting photos to the board. I have read Scott's Sticky on the subject, and I understand the concept.

My problem is that every time I go to photostash, it seems to limit me to a photo of no larger than 100kb (I believe that is the size). That makes for a very small picture, not really worth posting. Sad Or am I missing something there? ???

I see all of these wonderful, large pics you guys post up, (SmokinJoe, you seem especially adept at this cooldude), and I would like to pick all of your brains for what is the easiest, most cost effective, and non-limiting place to post pics on the web so I can then link them to our board.

Any help and suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance!  coolsmiley

photobucket is A LOT easier.  You can upload anything, and link anything.  You dan't have to mess with resizing pics.

+2 on Photobucket.

When you want to post a picture, it sounds like you are clicking on a thumbnail view.

When you get the picture you want to display, make sure it fills your screen.

If it is in a list of 6 to 12 or more, this is known as thumbnails. double click on  the picture you want, then right click it to get the pictures properties you copy to put in your message.

Example:

You need some kind of software that will eliminate detail. A 640x480 pixel pic can still be way to large for decent surfing on MB's because pixels are not the only thing that needs changed.

MS office picture manager will work ok, Photoshop gives you a wide range and you can do a lot with it. The one in photobucket is somewhat functional.

However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.

Thanks for all the advice. Looks like I am going to try Photobucket.  Smiley

RJ, I understand about Thumbnails, and I don't think that was the problem. The problem I was having with Photostash is that every time I tried to upload a photo, it told me it exceeded the size allowed. I typically take and store my pics so they are about 1 to 1.2 MB/photo, so I would have to downsize each photo to the max allowed size. I do have a couple of programs that will do that, but it is just another step. Sad

Sound like Photobucket either elimainates, or makes this step much easier, and that is what I am looking for.  cooldude

Thanks again. I am really tied up workwise right now, so it will have to wait a bit, but I'll get to it. Smiley
