Which would you choose if you had a choice. Looking to book a 25th anniversary trip. Not sure I can afford either, but it never hurts to dream. Dag's picture's make Norway quite appealing, but New Zealand also has it's charms (and roads). Anyone have any idea what the best time of year would be at either location? I prefer to avoid the big crowds.

Norway, Denmark, and Sweden, are known for their unusually low speed limits and extreme fines for violation of those speed limits. Nontheless, northern Europe has it's charms and share of great scenery.

However I'd opt for the other side of the globe. Nrew Zealand, Australiia, and Tasmania are a world apart, but english is spoken there and the food and drink is quite tolerable to the American palate (except Vegemite).

The chose is all yours!

Time of year and desired climate might be a consideration.

July and August should be quite safe with avarage temperarue about 70F
The highest temperature we had this summer was 89F
Norway shares the same latitude as Alaska, Greenland and Siberia, but compared to these areas Norway has a pleasant climate because of the Gulf Stream.

I have visited USA every year since 2002, so now its your turn to visit Norway  Smiley

The New Zealand summer is when we have our winter.

Good roads in NZ with beautiful countryside (Lord of the Rings type) and a vast array of scenery. Spring/Summer would be best (December through March) but they do get some rain. They talk funny though so be careful.  Wink
