Coming back from the store today, came over a crest and there he was!!  The state patrol!!  Here in Wisconsin just one mile over the limit is a $200 fine!!  So, I figured that if I spent that kind of money on a radar detector, and it worked once, then it would have paid for it’s self!!  But, there are so many different types and brands.  Not knowing which ones are junk, which ones are obsolete, and which ones work the best, I thought I’d pick some of you’re brains!!

So, what is a good radar detector???

Valentine 1.

Have used one for years and it's never let me down. That said, with instant on radar and laser, no detector is foolproof. One has to use his noggin in conjunction with the detector.

Have had excellent service from an Escort Passport. Expensive but has save my butt many, many times.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

I got a Whistler back in 2001 for my Tourer. Works well. Its been thru all sorts of weather with no problems. It has saved me many times, except for last year. Had my radio up to loud! Its only the size of a small cell phone. It was $40.

Its in the pic between the 2 pouches.
