Northern New Mexico

« on: September 17, 2010, 06:01:12 AM »

Anyone headed to the Ruidoso Golden Aspen Rally thats going on now through this weekend?

I need some info...

Where is it that serves up them award winning green chili cheeseburgers? I thought I understood that there are two places almost across the street from one another that are both well known and literally award winning. Just need to confirm where they are. Is it Belen?

Otherwise, I'm coming down from northern New Mex and would appreciate any suggested scenic must see/do touring down in and to the Ruidoso area. Probably coming down through the Clines Corners area and south from there versus interstate. Maybe take interstate on the return trip depending on time.

Thanks,

Gary

Gary,
I wish I had time to go, but just have to many things going on this weekend. San Antonio NM 10 miles south of Socorro, You have the Owl cafe and right across the street is the Buckhorn, a small Bar and Grill tht serves up an awesome Green Chili Cheesburger. it was on TV a few years ago in a Food challange. Go the the place across from the Owl.

Wow --- nice to see you still around Steve --- sorry to hear you're still so busy you can't take a ride

Hope things are well --- looking forward to getting to ride with you again someday.   coolsmiley

Thanks all!

Steve sorry to hear about you still slaving away.  Sad

Maybe stop off at Harry's Roadhouse for breakfast on Old Las Vegas Hwy outside of Santa Fe.

I may come down 14, Madrid, Sandia Peak and 41S out of Moriarty avoiding the interstate and make my way from there probably hitting Buckhorn in time for lunch.

Thanks for the feedback all.

Again, any other scenic must tour areas out around there let me know (at least before early am Sat), it'll be my first time out in that general vacinity.
