Valkct, actually, Jim Hansen from NE Ohio went down last week. He doesn't post much here due to slow dial-up service, but he has been in attendance at Inzane and the Blue & Gray Ride.

Jim was on his way home from work two Thursdays ago when a deer jumped out on the roadway. Jim was able to miss the deer but ended up off on the gravel shoulder. It appears that rear tire got loose in the gravel, and when the bike came back on the pavement, the rear wheel grabbed traction and high-sided Jim off.

Jim was able to ride the Valk home, but was in much pain doing so. Went to the hospital and was originally told to have a broken right thumb and muscle bruising to the left shoulder and chest. Once released, Jim began to have problems breathing. He went back in the hospital last Thursday with blood clots in the legs and one in the lung - became pretty serious for a bit.

Jim is now in ICU but is responding well to meds and should be stepped down to regular room tomorrow. He has the broken thumb, a dislocated shoulder, and the blood clots. We went to see him this afternoon and he is in great spirits. We presented him with a cake befitting the situation...

Jim's Tourer took a pretty decent tumble, but should be repairable. One bag lid, bag guard, engine guard, tank, windshield, light bar, tach, and master cylinder all need replaced. Before his setback, Jim has many of the parts he needs already lined up to get the Tourer back to its former self.

Please keep our great friend and riding buddy in your thoughts...

Way to much of this going on. Going over the top sux, I feel his pain, literally.

I have a stock seat from the 97 if his is cuffed up. Sounds like he might be in the market for handlebar.

So sorry to hear of this, heal quickly and strong. I ride  thru a 3 miles section of heavy woods everday to and from work. I always slow down and get my feet down off highway pegs and put both hands on the bars while ride in this area. So far this has helped me to avoid several  varmints from coons, possums, hogs, dogs, deer and one neutra rat. Everybody be careful arround areas where wild animals live.

I feel his pain and pray for his quick recovery.  I absolutely hate deer.  Wish they would extend the hunting season to 7 to 11 months.  Get better dude.
