Any day that you ride is a good day!

Virginia has eight covered bridges.

I've figured out a route that makes it possible to visit six of them in one day.

It starts with the Meems Bottom Bridge in New Market, Va and ends with the Sinking Creek Bridge in Newport, VA.

The route mostly stays on SR 42 and covers apx 240mi of scenic riding.

If the weather is good I'm thinking about taking this ride on Sat April 11th.

If the weather doesn't cooperate I'll try it on a different day.

If this sounds like a good idea to anyone else let me know and we'll plan to hook up and "share some wind".

The link is to VDOT's website where you can get info about Va's covered bridges and download a PDF about them:

The Photo is of Humpback Bridge near Covington, Va.

This is Va's most famous covered bridge.

I'm still planning on seeing some of Virginia's covered bridges this Saturday.

However, it doesn't look like the weather is going to be good enough to stay with the original plan.

Plan B is to get on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Roanoke, Va sometime around noon and ride towards Mabry Mill.

From Mabry Mill it's a nice ride towards Stuart, Va on US 58.

Two of VA's covered bridges are located in Patrick Co. just off SR 8.

If anyone wants to hook-up on Saturday and "share some wind" give me a shout.

cooldude Thanks!  I bookmarked the link.

It looks like there are some covered bridges in NC and WV that would make some good ride destinations as well.

I can definately understand.

The next time that you're here, give me a shout if you would like to see some of Virginia.

I'll be glad to show you around.
