Well after much deliberation. Advice from many friends, and how fast my last Avon went south I am going to try something different. I am always the sacrificial lamb in my group of friends when it come to this stuff. I was the first to run the dyna beads, rotella etc... Then when my bike doesn't blow up or crash everybody jumps on the bandwagon. I am just looking at the meaty tire 205/60/16 and wondering if it will fit. I am sure it will with the nut cage mod. I do a lot of two up riding so it should help. I stopped by the stealer today to buy some moly paste for my splines. Now I know why I never take my bike there. He tried to sell me a tube of thin runny engine assembly lube, telling me that's what they use there on all the bikes in the service dept for tire changes and spline lubing. The old Avon The new Michelin MX4V

You will love it, as long as you keep an open mind. It took me a while to get use to it. I am not scared of the tire, i was scared of knowing that i had a car tire on the bike. Once i got that out of my mind, i love it. You have as much tread on the ground in corners as you do on a motorcycle tire. Good Luck.

Wow looks like you turn left more than you turn right, or go straight for that matter. That tire would look scary on a cage let alone a 2wheeler. As Larry the Cable Guy would say Git-ER-Done.

My buddy has his bike jack all tied up. It has been for a few weeks and will be for a few more, So I had to improvise. If I get off work early enough tomorrow Ill get the tire mounted up. I had always wondered about the splines since purchasing this bike, The good news is they look perfect. Now I just have to wait for the mailman to bring my moly paste.

Do the "Nut cage mod" and the CT will work great! Run it between 37 and 40 psi depending on the tire, it will call for much more but they last longer and ride better at a lower psi, i run mine at 40! I use a tacky grease that's for "Caterpillar" equipment , works great! '

WOW! Where does the ct call for "much more" pressure than 37-40psi? The tire manufacturer sure won't. I run at 28 solo, 32 two up.

What size car tire do some of you use. I had a 205-55-16 on last time in a Dunlap. I think my rpm's were alittle higher.

I made my maiden darkside voyage today. Just a short jaunt to work, then back home in the evening. I definatly like the tire, but I am going to need a little time to get used to it. I am at 32 psi right now. The funny thing was at work, the old girl drew a crowd. Word got around the office, and everyone stopped by my desk asking questions. My buddy said they were talking about me at the tire shop, and wanted a report on how I liked it. I hope to put on a few more miles tomorrow.

I was beginning to worry since the last time you posted was early in the week. Glad to hear you got it mounted. Bet half of your coworkers are saying he's crazy behind your back, I know that is what everyone around here said every time I mentioned I was considering doing it. Take it easy and get use to it slowly. Think I'm going to take the Spyder south today and test it on the twisted Hwy 17.

Been on the Dark Side for ? Long time! as long as I ride the Valk there will be a car tire on the back. I started with the cooper but tried the tripple tread and like it. So that is what I am running now. I keep 38 and 42 on my Avon Venom in front.
