Which is a set of switchbacks on Route 6 going to The Bear Mountain Bridge from the east in NY, I am coming around a "hairpin" and all I see is Chrome and Blue! A  Tractor Trailer is in my lane, his right front tire on the yellow line! I stand up and brake hard and swing against the rocks as he roars by me and waves! I am two inches from a ditch, just thought I was buying it and he waves! 35 years on two wheels and this was the closest, at least perceptually I have ever come. Shiny Chrome and a nice metal flake baby blue almost had a red and white Valkyrie and one large individual splattered all over it! Otherwise it was a great day to ride!

Glad you are ok Bonzo

This is what Steve saw riding north on the goat trail

Oss's Ride up The Goat Trail to Bear Mountain Bridgepowered by Aeva

Where in the video did the truck almost nail you?

Rode to work again today, cross bronx and major deegan as usual were nuts  Only had one woman try to kill me she was fully engaged in my lane even with the air horn on solid. As I was leaning into my tank to get ready to kick out to her car door she finally saw me and moved back out, that was by Jerome Ave before the Deegan exit

Happens to me EVERY time on that road.  It's the only challenging road in the area, and everytime I'm on, trying to better my skills and getting into the ride, some asshole on the other side is in my lane when coming around one of the bends.  Doesn't even matter what time of the day.  First it scares the crap outta me, then I'm out of moment, and everyone in front of me is now doing less than the speed limit and totally ruining the rest of the road.

to me 106 is more challenging because of the scenery and decreasing radius turns and  the wildlife while the goat trail is made more difficult because of the strip paving and irregular road surface  and when an eagle floats by you just HAVE to look at it at your peril

The goat trail used to be such a real pleasure before the DOT messed it up

106 has no trucks that i have ever seen

as you well know if you are following me I will be going slower downhill on the goat trail because I am just a big ole scaredycat laugh

Hayhauler is comin up this weekend Gman  Interested in riding Sunday morning?  Bonzo? Skyhawk?

Hay should be getting to my house around 9 or so Sunday morning if he hasnt been drinking too much 2funny Saturday night at the convention

I will call you with further developments Ride is on rain or shine

Was thinking on giving him the tour and lunch at the Stadium around 1 or so.  The Stadium has either one or two Heismann Trophy and one of the best sports collections in the world for football, basketball, baseball and hockey.  My favorite sports pics of all time are on its walls including the one with Ruth, Gehrig and the manager sitting on a bench. If you havent been there you are missing something.

I am so excited, I may be there around 8.  I plan on leaving the hotel about 7 with a little over an hour drive to Ossville.  I hope I don't wake people up coming in that early.  Smiley
