I started a thread on the General Board about experience with Pinwall, but it lead to a question that I thought may be better posted here.

For 97 GL1500C-     SHAFT, PROPELLER
                                40201-MZ0-000    001    $133.84    $100.11

For 98 GL1500C-        SHAFT, PROPELLER
                                 40201-MZ0-A00     001     $63.25     $48.01    Undecided

Anyone know what the difference is. I really don't want to pay twice as much for a part if the $48 part will work!!  If it's a difference on the pinion end, I am changing the pinion cup too.

Please tell me if you know the difference.

http://www.vsource.org/VFR-RVF_files/BHondaPartNumbers.htm

using the codes, it reads that there was a modification -A00 and 000.
what that is I don't know. since the price is cheaper it most likely is a manufacturing change that lowered the cost. like now made in china?
The service manual does not call out for any difference.

maybe one is for the GoldWing 1500, a year that DOESNT match with the valk.  Our drive shafts cost around $100.

Well, I took the chance and ordered the cheaper shaft from HDL. Hope I have the same luck as the others. Ordered a new set of dampers for the I/S as well as pinion cup, o-ring for pinion and a set of rear wheel o-rings from Carolina Bike and Trike.  Rear should be good to go after I get all this replaced!
