What ever happened to good ol' common sense? I had some errands to run early this morning & I started off by going to McDonalds for a fast breakfast then to the bank then to Wal Mart then to Staples. On the way to staples I was approaching an intersection & I had the GREEN light & a woman was approaching me in her left turn lane. I have been riding long enough to NEVER trust anyone in their left turn lane when I am approaching them. She had a cell phone in her ear & it seemed like she was going to stop & let me go on through. At the point of no return she proceeds to turn left in front of me. It was a really close one. Luckily it went well. I stopped in time to let her go by. The whole time she was going past me she was looking right at me & did not miss a beat with her cell phone conversation. Her eyes were really wide as she passed me looking at me. I had to spot lights on with my headlight. Where do you think her feeble mind was? She probaly did not even knoe that she had done something wrong that could have ended in a catastrophe. The look on her face! DANG. Well, all is well that ends well don't ya know? Ride safe & be well aware of left turners especially with a cell phone in their @$$. tommy t IBA 1990

Aware riders get to be old riders. Glad that worked in your favor.
Cops dont want to be bothered with stupid stops like that. I drive I-10 into Tucson every day and it goes 75 to 65 and everybody passes me doin 85 with the HP radarin right there. Same spot every day. Never seen anybody get a ticket. dude following me NASCAR close, on the phone with a coffie in his other hand. Not a problem. I couldnt see his grille in my mirror, just the hood of the car.
