Here is my story:

I had a '07 VTX 1800F and had been looking for something more suited for 2 up riding. My riding buddy has an '00 Valkyrie standard and I really liked it. After a fall trip up the BRP last fall, I was sold on the Valkyrie. Felt like I wore the shift lever out on the VTX and just decided that I had to have something different.

Showing a buddy of mine how to use eBay, I bid low on an '01 I/S, fully expecting to be outbid. Nobody else made a bid on it. I was high bidder at $7200. Drove to Jacksonville, FL and picked it up on August first. I have been lurking on the board since then.

Been doing some maintenance and tweeking the bike to satisfy me. Got a few new parts coming and getting ready for a return trip to the Smokies on Oct. 9.

Leaving Townsend, TN on the 10th heading down the Tail of the Dragon and Hellbender. Gonna cross over the state to see my son that moved up there last month. Then we are gonna ride up the Outer Banks, back across to Martinsville, VA to catch the BRP south. May try to catch up for the Fall Color Ride.

Anyway, I have learned a lot about the Valkyrie family and hope to meet some of you guys next month.

If you haven't already been there, read up on maintenance items on Shoptalk.  If you have maintenance questions, post them on the tech board.  Chet Walters has a lot of good information on his site www.rattlebars.com go to the section titled Chet's Valkyrie.

Welcome to the club....
This here is the best group of folks you will ever meet, sometimes, wierd, opinionated, but in all a great bunch of people, I like to refer to it as Elmo's world, the strange but true world of the VRCC.
