I was wondering how many miles most of you are making it with E3 tires. Also wondering if anyone has noticed any strange noise developing as you approach the 13,000 mile range. I'm speaking mainly of noise when going straight ahead in the 25 to 40mph range. My tires just don't look that bad at 13,000 miles and I was hoping to get another 5,000 miles out of them. I don't run my tires till their bald but with the price of tires I don't want to just trash them when they still look good. I appreciate your thoughts and comments. Thanks!

I am running E3 front and rear right now. The only noise I really hear is from the slight cupping on the rear and thus only when leaning. The cupping is likely from some running with too low pressure last season, oops. Front currently has 16k on it and maybe another 1 or so remaining. The rear is currently at 14.5k and looks to have 2-3k more in it, assuming I keep the pressure up. I do feel these are light years ahead of the OEM Dunlops, but feel there has to be a better tire out there for my riding style. I am think the latest Avon offering might be my next choice.

I have over 20,000 miles on my rear E3. I have a new one to mount next week. On the front, I replaced the tire with only about 11,000 miles prior to my trip across country (California to Charleston, SC and back) because I was not sure it would last the entire trip. I saved it an will put it back on when my current tire wears out. I have not noticed any prolems or unusual noises with the E3. I ran Avon Venoms on my prior Valk and made the change to E3 to try them and because I got a good price on them.
I am not an agressive rider, and that is why I think that I have gotten over 20,000 on the rear. I keep the rear tire at 42 psi and the front tire at 40 psi.

I replaced my E-3's at 16,500 on them, even though the tires still look pretty good. They both were cupped a little, but like I said, they still look pretty good. No problems with noises other than the cupping. I'm not an aggressive rider, and most of my riding is two up. I'm pretty happy with them, and I put E-3's back on.

Only have 6000 miles on mine, wear appears normal. I do believe I'm going to get some decent milage from this set.

I get about a year, which usually mean 18K-22K per tire, I run tread pattern dissappears between center and both edges, so I can see the tread at the edge and in the middle. I seem to wear heavy just off center both sides.

Just as car tires have wear indicators, so have motorcycle tires. These indicators are to indicate the tire has reached a point where rain will no longer be channeled away from the tire through the tread pattern and therefore the tire will have a greater possibility of aquaplaning on wet roads.
These indicators are easily recognized by their raised profile equally spaced around the tire's circumference in the area of the treads expected wear. New tire are harder to recognize the indicators because they are very deep in the tread groove and as the tire wears the become more easily identified, and finally they start to show as wear spots within the groove when the tire has reached it's limits.

I only got between 9000 and 10,000 miles out of the E3's...which is almost as good as the Avon Venom's which netted just over 10,000, my best ever. If I had run them to over 13000 miles, mine probably would have made a noise similar to aluminum grinding on asphalt.

I never got more than 10k out of an E3 (front). I get 11k out of an Avon Venom (front) and the ride, handling and traction in the curves is far better tnan the E3. I never get more than 8k out of any rear M/C tire. Just happen to have a pic of an Avon (left) with 11k and an E3 (right) with 10k (both front tires). The chicken strips are smaller on the Avon because the traction is so much better that I take the curves much faster without losing traction. No more E3s for me.

My IS had new E3s on it when I got it. About 19K later I put a new set on it - could've gotten a few more, especially on the front. At 10K the new set looks great. Well, until I blew the back last weekend after a major brain fart.

I got 11,000 miles out of a front E3. I was really disapointed on the mileage and the tire handled like a pig.

I'm on my second set of E3's. They seem to be a good tire, maybe not as grippy as the Avon Venoms, but those seemed to be nail magnets. When these are done, I might try the Battleaxe rear with Cobra front.

17,500 and 15,500 on two E3 rears, one front at 18,000, current due for new at 17,500. I ride pretty fast and hard, but hated them in the rain. I put an Avon Cobra rear on 3,000 mi ago and like it plenty, except hard braking it seems to like to slide a bit. I am going to try the front Cobra as well very soon!
