You're a good man, Dana. Not many would take an orphan in like that and make them a part of the family. There is a special place in heaven for people like you!
(We really do need a sarcasm font)
Nice bike. How's she run compared to the Valks?

Nice! I've been watching some of the low prices on Runes on ebay this week, thinking somebody is going to get a really good deal. Now I know who.

Not only is the world GREATLY in need of a SARCASM font... but it also needs a JEALOUSY font.
Because I am... well, other than the BLACk part. I am not a fan of the black only bikes... however, I still appreciate their beauty, even if I don't want MINE that way... drifting off point.
I want a Rune bad bad bad. You're a lucky man. Glad someone got one that wanted one. Obviously the guy before you that only rode her 1800 miles didn't.

Good looking bike there Dana! Congrats Please tell us your opinion of how it performs; compared to our Fat Ladies. It should be quicker, but I'm curious as to how it handles as well? You are a great humanitarian for giving that poor Rune shelter, snuggled up in between it's 2 big sisters! You da man

I only had enough time to put about 150 miles on it this weekend but it sure feels good. Seems to have a little more power than the valk, extremely smooth and handles well. One thing you do immediately notice is the linked brakes and no front end brake dive due to the front suspension. The main thing I'm having trouble getting used to is no place to carry anything.Really miss the saddlebags and the windshield that the I/S's have.I took it to the Cassoday breakfast ride yesterday morning and the temp was only in the mid 30's when I left.Pretty cool ride but I did reach down and turned on the heated corbin seat to see how it worked.Warmed up the butt cheeks but sure didn't do much for the numb face and cold fingers! I've ridden in the cold many times before but don't really ever remember my seat getting near as cold as the rest of me.I think I'd trade the heat in the seat option for a nice pair of lectric gloves. Oh yeah Thanks for all the nice comments about helping out this orphan but it just really felt like the right thing to do at the time! Pat I'd really like to make that Kerrville ride with you all but I don't think there is anyway I can do it this time. Riding those roads down there are certainly on my to do list.

ahhh.....haaaa....... I saw you sign up on the Rune board recently....and wondered WHAT you were up to? NOW I KNOW! You summed up the comparisons EXCELLENTLY between tha Valk and the Rune in your post above. Wouldn't want to be without EITHER of those two bikes. Sherry and i are both fond of BOTH ....our Valks...and our Runes. Both bikes have their niche....their pluses and minuses. But BOTH bikes (Valk and Rune)....are KEEPERS! I've had my Valk now OVER 13 years...and i don't see it EVER going away. I've had my Rune now OVER 7 YEARS...and it too...will stay "in the fold"....forever as far out as i can see.......... Welcome to the Rune world....you truly have the best of those two worlds with your Valks and RUne!
