My wife is wanting me to install some LED lighting on our Valk.
I have looked at other bikes with the LED's and like them.
My question is, are the difficult to locate on the bike for prime lighting?
I really do not see where a great place would be to light up the engine.
Is any brand better than others?
Thoughts?    uglystupid2

I haven't tried different brands, but had good results with the Electro Pods brand.

Electro Pods also has remote control unit you can add to your set up.
Also has a unit to allow different circuits to flash or change the speed of flash, or steady. some times I have some lights steady and some flashing. All are set to flash currently

If you are going down to Hotglue's BBQ, there will be a few bikes with LEDs on them and you can check them out.  I havent posted any pics on the new board yet but will try when I have more time.

I bought a very nice set of lights from Joe Florida. Look great, easy to install. Google the name for his web site. ( he also sells on the well known auction site) If you want to contact him, call him, as he has never replied to any e-mail I have sent. I bought the Red, White and Blue set and added extra lights for a little more money. In my opinion it puts my fellow biker`s light kits to shame. Comes with remote control and 15 functions. Took about a day to install. I didn`t know where to put them either. I used tape to hold them in different spots before I settled on a permeant placement. You need to place them anywhere that they can reflect in the chrome.

Boogie lights from G & B Cyles aka Cycle goodies.  The cut & clicks are killer.  Both sides of the tank, under the light bar, under the rear bags on each side.  Life time warranty.  Did the cheap ones Custom Dynamics and bunch of other "junk"  Boogie lights are the best out there.  There not cheap, but I opted to do it once and do it right.  http://www.cycle-goodies.com/  The guys name is Gary Dunn and he'll work with you to save you a few bucks, with accessories.  No affiliation, just received price break and great service.

I didn't get any pics in my email.....  Shucks.

Sooooo, I spent the evening in the garage, dimly lit, with my Valk I/S and a few cold ones to keep me company.  I got some green LED pods installed.  I do have an FX Million Color Light Kit, but I just installed the green LED PODs and all looks well.  No remote, but a manual switch (using the unused position of the Rattlebars 4way Flasher Mod).  It took awhile to find a good location for the lights and get them aimed right.... but I think I am done.

I have
-1 -  4LED Pod  pointing from the bottom of the trunk to the chrome tail light assy.
-1-   4LED Pod  pointing from the engine side of the radiator PODS towards the engine. (2 - 4LED PODS)
-1-   5LED box  pointing down in front of the radiator cover (2 would be better probably)
-1-   4LED pod  attached to the  front of the passenger floorboard mount pointing toward the engine (2 - 4LED PODS)
-1-   5LED box  attached to the engine hanger covers pointing to the engine (2 - 5 LED Boxes)
-1-   5LED box  attached to the inside of the frame behind the side covers pointing rearward toward the shocks and bags. (2 - 5LED boxes)

May add more LEDS and/or the FX kit, but it looks good as is for now.

Pictures don't do it real justice, looks better in person.  And I would still like to see others photos too..

I don't remember the brand, but I used one of the kits that has 6" semi-flexible strips that connect together with a proprietary harness. It has a remote and lots of different functions and colors. I bought three kits and used all the strips on one controller. I've got 'em mounted on the inside of the engine guard struts on each side, one behind the front engine guard bar shining on the water pump, one under the lower triple clamp shining on the radiator, one on the swing arm to light the ground beneath, one behind each saddle bag, two under each side of the tank, and one inside the intakes on each side. It took me several hours to get everything routed the way I wanted, but it really lights up now. I'll try to get some photos tonight and post tomorrow.

PAVALKER, you do good work.

Thanks.... Looks much better today after I washed it up and gave it the spring cleaning.    I had to take the VTX out today... didn't want to get my Baby dirty or dusty.  Next nice night out I'm taking the Valk out to show off the lights.   coolsmiley
