Searched the archives, but still have a few questions. 1. Where is the best place to access the wires, under the right side cover or at the rear turn signals and brake light? 2. What color wires am I looking for, for each function? Thanks for the help as I may have bitten off more then I can chew, as far as the wireing goes.

Can't help on the 1st, but you should be able to get the color from the wiring diagram. I also don't under stand your ? in the subject line. Are you trying to wire 4 different things, or trying to have one light (spoiler) do all 3 things? What bike do you have, that your are trying to do this to? Where are you trying to mount it to on the bike? The standard and Tourer are the same, but the IS is wired differntly in the rear.

I have a 2000 I/S. I bought an LED spoiler from Wing stuff that is for an 1800 Goldwing. It has three functions. turn, run, and brake lights. I have the shop manual for my Valk but the wiring diagram dosen`t show the color of the wires.

I looked at he manual for my IS, and it shows on page 21-2, fold out, there are some letters there showing the color. Too small for me to read with my poor eyes, and the PDF didn't blow them up clearly.
The left brake/tail light has what looks like a B/W, G, GR. Acessory light looks like a B/W & G. These are right beside the picture of the light bulb.
Now you need to take the line drawings, and transfer them into the real wires. I think the microfishe like on Bikebandit will help out with this.
There is also the Super Valk mod, I think it's in the Shop Talk (or look it up), which will show you how to wire most of this in.
I was thinking of the same thing, GW spoiler, but was only interested in using it as a brake.

These are easier to read. -RP http://www.rattlebars.com/valkfaq/schematics/

When I modified the wiring on my standard it was most convenient to put the splices under the front seat... I wired in a 5 wire trailer connector (flat style). One wire each for each turn signal, tail light, brake light and ground. (Ground is the exposed "male" pin on the 5 pin connector.) The reason for the 5 wire will become evident in the last paragraph...
Then I took the other end of the trailer connector (the one with 4 exposed "male" ends and made its wire long enough to reach the lights I was wiring on the rear end. I routed the wire under the seats, being careful to avoid any pinch points or potential wire-breakers or "short circuit makers."
At the rear end of this new wire you have a couple of options. One is to wire each of the hot (light) wires to its respective light. Or you can attach "bullet" style male/female connectors to allow you to unplug the lights.
Or you can add even more versatility, just in case you ever plan to tow a trailer. Splice or otherwise connect another 5 wire connector (with the ground on the single, exposed mail plug), and connect the 4 wires to their respective lights as I described above (either direct connect or by using bullet connectors). Now, if you want to tow the trailer, wire the trailer end of the harness using a 5 wire flat connector (each wire as described in the first paragraph. Use the 5 wire connector to ensure that the bike ground is solidly connected to the trailer ground.)
When you get this done, just plug the trailer 5 wire flat into the 5 wire flat that you've created and voila... the trailer should have lights!
