Way out of left field..............Was wondering if anyone knew if a 170/80/15 rear tire will fit on a Shadow Aero 750----- stock calls for a 160/80/15. There's plenty of clearance at the swingarm, my concern is fender rub! Anyone know for sure?

I'd suggest going to the Shadow Aero site.

Do a Google search and take your pick.

Hey Radio,

Yes, the tire will fit with plenty of room.  The 10mm difference in width and 8mm is height won't make a bit of difference.

If you are looking for a good site for Shadow information, give www.hondashadow.net a try.  I used to be a member there but haven't gone there in quite some time.

Is that all you have to do, take the MC tire sire and do a direct comparision to a CT?

So my ACE Tourer using a Dunlop 206 at 170/70R-16 , is just a 170/70R-16 CT? But I need to check for clearance, since the MC tire and fender is round, and the CT is flat. So if I have a CT kicking around, remove the rear and place it inplace of and see if it might fit. If not, go to a smaller dia or width/ratio.

Hey Gordon,  I believe he was talking M/C tires...not CTs.

Yes, MC tires! Near impossible to get a car tire to mount to wire spoked rims------- tried that for a buddy of mine's Vstar 1100...........Had about 4in. that just would not pop out to the rim.....even shot 150psi to her!
Car tires are better left to solid aluminum rims..............
Special thanks to all for the info...........Have a tire ordered for a customer's 750 Aero in my shop and I didn't want to do all the work mounting and balancing just to have it rub the fender!!! Thanks again!

I guess reading early morning, I didn't catch that it was a MC to MC, thought it was MC to CT.

The ACE Tourer is what I was referring to, solid alum. mag. I already replaced my rear tire because I ran it till it blew on me, getting up to speed on the hwy entrance. Scarry, with my wife on the back. Towed to the shop and replaced with OEM MC tire. No chance to look for and get a CT, but others are still searching, that is why I was asking the question of how to find a CT from the MC tire size.
