I am going to need 4 Valve Stems this winter for my 2 Valks.  (Two will be placed back for when the Tourer needs tires.)  After checking on Patchboy's site for the stems, I was SHOCKED at the shipping rate for 4 units (almost $12 on a $8 order!!).  I really want them but I can't see paying that much for shipping.  Any alternatives that are more reasonable?  Does anyone have 4 stems they wouldn't mind selling to me?  Is there enough interest in a larger order?  Ideas?

Several months ago, I proposed a group-buy for stems, if we could get enough people interested in making it feasible. There weren't enough. I had about 10-12 sets spoken for, and several of those were overseas, negating much of any savings. Haven't thought about it for a while, but I seem to recall, I'd need to buy 50 to start getting a decent deal, other than shipping savings. I haven't bought any yet, but still intend to, and would happily join in any "group-buy", should one develop.

I have some left from a large purchase I made.  Cost plus a little for shipping would do it for me.  My son is getting married this weekend, so I am somewhat busy!   Cheesy

However, PM me if interested.

I bought fifty sets and took them to InZane.  We gave most of them away.

Joe, did you not buy enough raffle tickets?

I've seen OEM valve stems priced at $11 each.  My cutoff with Patchboy is about $30 worth to feel okay with the shipping/product price.  You'll find friends that need them.

Jake Wilson has them for $2.00 each.  I don't know what the shipping charges are.

Put 2 in the cart and the shipping was $7.
That's $11 for 2.

Edit: I experimented with quantity and the $7 shipping held until I got to 50 pcs.  Then it was free!

2nd Edit: So it's 50 pcs at $2 each = $100 - $10 coupon code = $90 (that's $1.80 each delivered!)

Last Edit: The only coupon code that works AFAIK is JWGIVE10 which looks like you get a $10 gift card instead of an immediate credit.

I buy them from my local tire store.  They have a vendor that delivers product to them once a week so there is no shipping charge.  I get my cage tires there so he is quite helpful.

I had a OEM stem break on me 400 miles from home I was lucky to be with friends that had tools however I still had to buy 2 C-clamps from Sears @ 14.99 a piece....I had the Patchboy stem in my saddlebag and had planned on changing them out at next tire change....It's only money...You Can't Take It With You And It Ain't Gonna Do You No Good Dead.
