But your car wont.  Father-in-law has a new Honda mower, been in the shop twice this summer and they told him both times don't use the blended gas.  The did fix it under warranty but they also tested the gas because over 10% voids warranty.  Also BMW dealers test gas in tank before performing any fuel related repairs, over 10% you pay for the fix.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Not to turn this political, but who is this "they" you speak of? Can "they" be voted out come November?

(For anyone interested in researching the topic, upping the ethanol content of blended gasoline does little to reduce its carbon footprint. Sounds like assorted lobbyists for both the farm and petroleum industries have been playing fast and loose with the global-warming scare data again, all the while looking to line their pockets and inducing our elected officials to bite the lure...)

With all the hunger in the world today, should we be using food for fuel?

They are the communist outfit aka the EPA. They do not answer to the president, congress or the senate. They have complete power and were given it decades ago.

Right now, 3% of the US corn goes to ethanol.  After processing, 60% remains, and is still used as cattle feed, so really only 1.8% is being used.  And, what remains, is a higher quality feed for the cattle.

Don't be too sure that the farmers will thank us.

In my area we still have a lot of small dairy operations, and they are not thanking anyone for the ethanol gasoline because it has driven the price of feed for their dairy herd up substantially.

The people that like it are the large grain producers, those that are trading it in the stock market, and the green people that believe  the Al Gore type claims.
