Just finished a brake pad replacement on my 99 I/S. There is a space between the outside pad on the right hand side rotor and the pad on the outside left one is against the rotor. No extra piece on the garage floor, so am I missing some sort of spacer between the hub and speedo?? Everything went back together easy. Thanks

Spin the wheel while it is off the ground.  Apply the front brake forcefully.  This should push the piston out and take up the space.  It could be that you forced the piston in so the new pads would fit and in just needs to be forced back out.

There is another thread on this subject going on right now. You need to follow the step by step instructions. Start by being sure that the axle is seated all the way. I use a rubber mallet to do this. If the axle isn't seated all the way you will have problems with lack of space/ interference with brake rotor bolts.
