With the recent concern over the back order of the U-Joint I read in a bunch of posts that some riders thought it might be a good idea to sell the "Fat Lady". Y'all need to have a little more faith in Mother Honda in supplying us parts on these wonderful machines. Keep in mind most of the drive train parts are the same as the GL1500 GoldWing that were made for 13 years. I can't imagine Honda would drop the ball on those folks.
I used to be over on the NakedGoldWing forum alot when I had my '83 Wing. Those guys are dealing with bikes that are over 25 years old and are doing just fine in keeping those old Wings on the road.
The Valk is a damn good machine and will last many moons with the proper maintenance and care that it deserves.

I had an '83 Wing and brought home a Valkyrie yesterday. I'm not worried about parts; just finding the time to ride more! Bernie

Any of you guys wanting to get a more updated bike can just send your Valks to me. I'll give you a little bit for them. It won't be much, though, since you can hardly get parts for them anymore.

I would hate to see some one sell the ol' girl just cause some parts are a little harder to get right now. I think it will be a non issue long term cept maybe something like a side cover or a gas tank. I'm in for the long haul with mine. That thing is a blast to ride. Keep the fluids changed and everything lubed and should be good to go.

as far as u-joints go, there are a lot of parts that you can get from other places,,,
when the bike was made honda did not build a bike and then have some one build them a u-joint,, they found a u-joint then built the bike parts to fit that,,,same with bearings,, you can probably get all the u-joints you want at motion industries or someplace like that,, same with bearings,, all they need is the size of the cups and distance from end to end,,,,

The more I look at our bikes and others there are so many common parts and I dont really think that the parts that go on these bikes will be hard to get. Some there are ways around buying factory parts and in some cases are better because you can get them stronger or once replaced you know that if it ever happens again no problem in replacing them. There is no bike that doesnt have the same issues what are you going to do change bikes after the model run stops.

I have restored Packards and love the search. Its a HONDA!! If ya dump it over a u-joint... Its not like the saddle bags are $600.00 or anything.
