From what I've read here progressive springs are better than the stock springs.

Is there anyway to tell a progressive spring from a stock spring?  Would there be a marking on either? (stamp, tag, etc...) Or could I tell by the length or thickness?

I have a set of used forks I'm going to reseal and install on my bike and would like to determine if it has progressive springs in them or not.

Progressives are shorter than stock but the ride height is the same due to the stiffness.

you can tell by looking at 1 spring :
OEM Honda fork springs are wound the same all over its length,
progressive fork springs are wound thighter on the one end then the other, thus being a 'progressive' spring.

To compress it 2 inch, it takes more then 2 x the force to compress it 1 inch.
