Just decided I'm going to do a BBQ run with my fellow Texas VRCC crew on Saturday and then head to Louisiana for the Sunday Ride for Kids in Lafayette.  Hope to meet some Valk riders from LA there.  I know some other friends are coming in from as far away as Shreveport and a number going down from Alec.  Should be fun and it's for a great cause - helping kids with brain tumors/cancer.

I'm going to bring my Valk/sidecar rig over to help take some of the patient kids on the ride with us.  Post up if you can make it. I'll be pretty easy to spot with an all black rig, but let me know who to look for.  I may talk a couple of others into coming over with me, too.

Here is the page with the address and time info http://www.pbtfus.org/rideforkids/events/2010/louisiana.html. Registration is from 8 - 9:45 and the ride and lunch is all done by around 1:00, so go to early or late mass/church if you need to, but come on out to help save a kid's life.

See you there.

SideCar,

Good for you.  Wish I could be there.  Hope all goes well. Those kids have a way of getting into
your heart.  I have a young girl that has ridden with me in Chicago the last four years.

The Louisiana RFK went on after hurricane Katrina and raised over $19,000.  I thought that
was amazing considering what the area had been through.

Let us know how it goes.

Popeye.

I'm gonna try to make it there.  Keep an eye out for a standard Valkyrie with 6X6 pipes, car tire, and an amateur black paint job with metal flake clear coat.  I did my own painting...  uglystupid2

Oh yeah... it also has a lower engine guard with "CajunRider" cut into it.  I guess that'd be the easiest way to recognize it...  cooldude

Also... The ride is on the 24th... you had "Sunday" correct, but the wrong number.

Yep, that CajunRider ought to be the key.  I saw there are something over 30 VRCC members registered in Lafayette, not counting the surrounding areas.  If you know some, let 'em know about it.  I doubt everyone is checking the board between now and then.  Heck, bring some non-valk friends, too, and we'll make it a bigger ride this year.   cooldude

Right you are Popeye. Great reason to get out and ride! Way better than most toy runs (IMO) cause you're really helping save lives.
