cooldude OK enough of the teasing pics. How about some pics of the adaptor you used to hook up to the lift arm. I've got a 2 post lift just like that and have thought about doing the same thing myself. Sure would beat crawling around on the floor!  coolsmiley

What Valkyrie?? All I see is a shop!! Puts mine to shame, I sure wish I have made mine 14 foot tall, instead of 10 foot tall. It might be nice to have a lift...or have it out of steel, so it could be vaulted, instead of wood beams...

Is that chicken wire on the ceiling? Holding up the insulation?? I have rolls of insulation, put 8" in the walls, but didn't want to put in a ceiling AT 10 feet, but didn't know how to put it up between the rafters in the peak. I bet chicken wire would do it, with a few adaptations...

Oh, THERE'S the Valk...NICE!!

Valkhound this was my first attempt building the adapter. I am not satisfied with it and going back to the drawing board. I used an adapter on the bike similar to the one on the shoptalk except it bolts up where the kickstand bolts up and doesn't have the piece that goes under the engine. The other part is channel iron in a H pattern. It has a hole drill in the middle and the whole thing is supported by a 1 3/8   bolt in the arm. It is really diffucult to get it level and it has a lot of wobble. It would work great if all you are going to do is detail but I wouldn't be comfortable taking wheels and such off of it and throw out the balance. Not that it would fall off but it would be a little unnerving. I have to use both arms of the lift to achieve stability. I am designing another adapter putting both long arms of the lift on one side. the trouble I'm having is I am going to have to have the bike positioned in just the right place everytime for everything to line up right. there is little adjustment using both arms. I am trying to design it simplicity also. At this point in the game it takes 2 people to put it on there. When I get it all perfected I will share with everyone. may take another few days.                         The chicken wire would work for you Roger since you have wood it would be easy to stretch it tight and staple it.

I wholeheartedly agree.  I've considered using my lift also but am afraid to risk my Valk landing on anything other than the tires.

It was just way to simple for my complicated mind. After some fried catfish I saw the big picture. I was easily able to fabricate a fixture that is 100% stable without changing any arms out. It's a one man operation if you don't mind a little rush when it comes off the kickstand and settles onto the pads and vice versa. ??? I can put 2 Valks on there at the same time. Tomorrow I will put up pics and instructions on the tech board. According to the type of lift you have you may have to do a few things different but I feel like it can be done simply with any lift. My next project is to design one for my bumper jack.    Yes Tundra I bought it right there in Seminole.

Helped build several garages like that. Put up the steel. Stretch the chicken wire on the outside. Put up the insulation as you are putting up steel skins. Actually goes pretty good when you have a plan. Though the insulation is only about an inch thick, but flat as can be where you put in the screws for the skin.
