I posted earlier this week, asking for feedback on bike insurance.  I got some great feedback and followed up on mnay of your suggestions.........Thanks to all!  Here is the results I got from 4 well known insurance groups.  All 4 were asked to quote identical coverage.   This is merely a fyi for those in the market for insurance.

Progressive................$250  annual
Geico........................$223  annual
Dairyland...................$453  annual (ouch!!!)
Foremost...................$193  annual

In my neck of the woods I found Foremost to be the HIGHEST by far.  Foremost is sponsored by AARP' car insurance
which is The Hartford.

I have dairyland, and it was the cheapest by a few bucks with a bit better coverage.    Very interesting!

I would sure trust 'Flo' over anything the AARP offers or sponsors.  I'm no longer an AARP member after they came out for Obamacare.

I have Progressive and their rates are low for me.

Yeah, there seems to be no rhyme or reason for it.  Just like most, if not all companies, use your credit score to determine rates too.  Read the fine print. That's BS, imo.

Yeah, no kidding!!

When I was looking to buy my Valk I checked with different insurances and between Progressive, which I had on my other bike (C50 Suzuki), and Geico, Geico was WAAAAY cheaper!

I can't remember the exact numbers but it went something like this:

For the same coverage on the Valk that I had on my Suzuki Progressive wanted something like $1200 and I was paying like $250 on the Suz.  Geico, for the same coverage was something like $300 for the Valk.

I have Geico ins now.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Be interesting to ask a different agent about Dairyland if you went to a private agent. I was always w/Dairyland back in my 70s/80s Harley days because they were the lowest and had a good rating. I left when the rate went up big time 2x in a row, only to find out later it was just the local indy ins agent bumping up his commision Angry

Thanks Wayne for reminding everyone about AARP and Obamacare.  I also have Progressive for the time being on my 3 bikes, which covers me and my son, and it costs less than $300/year

For the record Progressive is also on my sh*t list after their CEO (Peter Lewis) has given millions to the ACLU.  Lewis inherited the business from daddy, not exactly the work your way to the top story I like to hear.  He seems to share a common characteristic of others who never had to work for their wealth, he clear his conscensious by donating a few dollars to liberal causes.  Ostensibly they can now claim to be helping the non-priveliged in their struggle against capitalist tyrants.  After seing this thread I will probably check out Geico.
