I have Cobra 6x6 pipes on my Rat Rod.

The Cobras sound great but thre is no scavenging effect of straight pipes, thus a decrease in possible torque. And why is it that the TBR 6x6 pipes did not effect performance? Did the TBRs have some venturi system within them?

I need to know if anyone has tried "Torque Cones" to increass exhaust flow velocity on their Valks. What Brand (Barons)?

I am rephraseing my question as their must be a VRCC member that has had these same thoughts also.

So what makes the TBR 6x6 pipes not lose HP/TQ and the Cobra 6x6s do?
And would "Torque Cones" work in the Cobras?

Didn't the TBR pipes have a crossover built into them?      I have Cobras so I am not sure.

TBR built a 6X2 that had a crossover.

I believe he's asking about the TBR 6X6 which are similar to the Cobra 6X6 but actually claimed a slight hp increase.

Different pipe size may have had something to do with it.  Maybe even the turnouts make a difference.

The bottom line is that TBR is a serious aftermarket tuned exhaust manufacturer.  I get the impression Cobra was simply producing, among their many other products, a simple set of straight pipes.

Not to get involved with a detailed technical discussion of exhaust tuning, but pipe diameter, length, and the amount and angle of the bends, among other things, determine how the engine will perform at a given RPM.  I don’t know about TBR, but many exhaust makers claim torque gains at a specific RPM, which may be technically true, but don’t produce better overall torque and drivability.  Inverted cones can help scavenging, but must be tuned to a specific RPM since they enhance the exhaust “echo”.
