Bikers don't need shrinks!

I know many of you are focused on HotGlue's GOTF right now and getting to Houston for it.  Unfortunately, I'm going to miss the party. So, I figured I would make sure the next big Houston event is in the planning, too.

The Houston/South Texas area Ride for Kids is coming up on Sunday, April 26. It's an all new ride location and route this year, starting up near Lake Houston in Humble.   The ride will be new and fun, but it's not really about the ride. It's about these kids with brain tumors who need some help and the fun that hundreds of bikers getting together for a ride and lunch can have with these kids.  I've never met anyone who didn't go away from this with a smile on his/her face.

All you folks are invited to what continues to be voted the best charity ride in Texas by Ride Texas readers.  Please pass along the invite the other GOTF attendees to come to this, too.  Imagine if we brought 40-50 new folks to this and got to ride and eat together again in April.  And, for every $300 you raise and donate at the ride, you'll get a chance to win a new Honda.

I'm going to head down on Saturday, April 25 from the DFW area with some others who want a leisurely back roads ride down to the Humble area, enjoy some dinner that night and then ride with the kids the next day.   If you want to join us, just email or post up. Details on time and route are still being worked out.

Here's the link to details on location in Humble, map and discount hotel info for those from out of town.  Registration is 8-9:45 (donuts and coffee included). Ride starts at 10 sharp with lunch (included) and celebration with the tumor patients to follow.  Plenty of time to ride home afterwards.

Let's bring this to the top.  We need to find out who will be able to participate and contribute to the Ride for The Kids in Houston, April 26?  I will be riding up Sunday morning EARLY and would like to meet up with the group to go to the ride.  I am trying to get some people together from the Pearland/Friendswood (South part of Houston) area to ride to Humble and then go on the Ride for The Kids ride.

It should be fun and it is a good cause!

So, how many DFW / N Texas VRCCers are planning to make the Houston Ride?  I'm trying to make it work.

Houston Ride For Kids is one of the two biggest rides in the country. What a great example of what our DFW ride could come to be over the next few years!

Even if you have been on all the previous 16 Houston area rides, this year's ride will be a new experience in that it will be a loop ride starting and finishing on the north side of Houston in Humble. Great news if you are allergic to Houston traffic!

The host hotel is the Super 8 at Bush Intercontinental Airport, 7010 Will Clayton Parkway in Humble, TX 77338. Call 281-446-5100 and ask Sam for the Ride For KidsĀ® rate of $65 plus tax.

Have some fun and help kids with brain tumors! As Bob (pictured below) would say, "No sacrifice is too great for the kids!"~Jeff

See yall there.  It's a little over an hour ride from Pearland, but me and the SO should be there around 8 a.m.

I am planning to ride to Dallas for theirs.  Maybe we can do that together!
