Stopped by a local bike salvage and repair yard today.
The guy has old everything from headlights, to wheels, frames, engine parts-mostly British and Japanese. He also has some intersting stuff in running cond. saw a Moto-Guzi I'd love to have.
Asked if he had any old Valkyrie stuff, "nope", he said, "I thought they were all still running"
Brought a smile!

Just like Harley Davidsons.
79% are still on the road.
The other 21% made it home.
Sorry, couldnt hold that one in.

I get more and more coments lately about guys looking for used Valkyries and asking (wondering) why Honda stopped making them.  I think the craze for V-Twin wanna bees is wearing off and people are seeing the Valkyrie again for the first time

I stopped by the local stealer today to see if he still had that orange/black
for sale."Long gone" he said. Walked around for a few minutes anyway. As I
was leaving he said "I'd like to have a barn full of Valkyries. I could sell 'em
in a heartbeat." cooldude

A friend of mine works in a used dealership. He can never keep Valkyries in stock - he himself rides a tourer. When I told him I was looking for an IS last year he just laughed and told me good luck - we never keep them in stock - and I always get more than book for them.

That seems really strange as there are usually a number of them for sale in the area here and many at a relatively low price. Maybe it's a regional thing.

In demand in my neck of the woods. I looked for 8 months before I found my 2000 IS.

Hey Ricoman..... I'm kinda looking for a wrecked '90s Nighthawk 750 mainly for the engine & controls. Running would be a nice bonus. It's for a future project & of course I'm looking to spend as little as possible  Wink.
Since you like poking around bike bone yards {as a lot of us do! cooldude} keep your eyes peeled for me!

+2.

Matter of fact just yesterday one of my best friends stopped by to kill about an hours time and said that his wife gave him the okay to get a "full dresser".  I laughed.  This guy is one of the pillars in my life that helps keep me in line and thinking positive when everything closes in sometimes.   I feel bad for him cause he came back from Iraq war and him and his buddy made a pack while over there that they would buy motorcycles and ride together.  Well only one made it back  Embarrassed  He went out and bought a Sportster 883.  At the same time in 2006 I bought my first bike 99 I/S.  I showed up at his house with mine and he couldn't believe the "size"  (that's what they all say  coolsmiley )  So he really wanted me to take his bike for a ride.  So I did  Undecided  I wasn't impressed at all.  I came back and he said "What did you think, pretty fast huh Shocked .   So I tossed him my keys to my valk I/S and he took off on it and didn't come back for a while.  He gets off the bike and has this look  Sad on his face.   I asked:  "Whadja think?"   He replied with "I can't believe how amazing that thing rides and the power, man...  I feel like I am riding a scooter now".   LMAO   I replied:  "well  Undecided  you are! 2funny

Long story short in the past 4 years he has since sold the 883, bought a Yamaha Vstar 1100 (still they are under power, my opinion), and last year he bought a strip down 09 holdover Victory Vegas for 15k dollars.  It was the same time I bought my second valk 98 tourer.  His wife couldn't believe I spent half the price of his and had four times the bike  2funny

So now he is ready to sell and buy a full dressed bike. I asked him if it was going to buy one of these (as I looked over my shoulder at the two valks).  He said it was going to be the new yamaha cruiser.  But, then he did ask if he could ride my bike to fort scott, ks this weekend.  I warned him if he did and wanted to buy one mine are NOT for sale  Roll Eyes

And yes I get that all the time how amazing the valk is and why did honda quit making them.  I always used the phrase.  The valk was taking sales away from the Goldwings and the new V-twin VTX's so they did away with them.  I think that was a huge huge mistake.  If I am off base with my description please share what you say to that question.

Enjoy your day folks  cooldude

I like the Kawasaki Voyager and the new Vaquero bikes. Have not ridden one though. I like the styling better than the Yamaha.  Your friend doesn't pick up on things very well does he?

Really like my Valk, Would love to pick up a well maintained I/S and turn this one into a SuperValk.
