This was a pretty neat video.... Just goes to show to give decisions back to society.  Wishful thinking, I guess  Undecided

I've seen signs of the same when traffic signals lose power.  The people self regulate and become polite and considerate.

Yet, four way stops are a madhouse for the most part in Indiana.

I thought it was a great metaphor for how government regulation can really gum up the works sometimes.........some rules sound well and good....like lights at a busy intersetion, but the uninteded consequenses are sometimes worse than the original problem.

think about it....   it would eliminate the "acceleration" to make the yellow before it turns red.  Or trying to time the light to not stop.  I would be curious to see if it would work here in the states.  I have seen intersections out due to power failure and people did a great job navigating as Solo1 mentioned...

I'm for it!!

in Ossining on sundays the lights go to blinking red or yellow depending on the road

in NYC having no lights would be scary

yeah, don't think it would work in this part of the world.  people need to be considerate and polite from the beginning to have that work.

we've got round-a-bouts popping up all over in this area, i personally hate them 'cause most people think they've got the right of way all the time.  but, when there's no one around, they work pretty good!!

The local planning prats here in Roswell, GA recently developed a section of road and added 3 stop lights. Now the vehicles sit and sit and sit. Stupid asses. I wrote in with a detailed paln of how they could have created a large roundabout utilising the exsisting roads. Didn't hear from the plonkers. Government strikes again.

If you've ever been to Dothan, you know about the Circle. When I first came here there were probably half the lights. People race from one light to the other. We did a 9-11 memorial ride a few years back and rode about 40 mph around the circle and only stopped once for a light. Pretty amazing. In the meantime people were flying by us giving us that look of disgust, then we'd come up behind them at the next light and roll through behind them.

The road I take to get to town has a light that seems to stay red while it would be clear for me to proceed. Then as traffic approaches it goes green. Doesn't make sense. then there are at least 100 crossovers at most businesses and side streets with no traffice light. How do people manage to cross the circle without a light?
