I noticed that there is a new Hoka Hey challenge ride in AUG 2011.  I wondered if any Valk riders did the last run and how was it?
I was thinking about making the next one.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Rode behind 2 guys at Sturgis this year that had the shirts and a flag/bandanna hanging off there bike. It always looked interesting but pricey.

Did the last "winner" ever got paid?

Do a Google search for the various forums regarding this.

I read the application, and they are accepting all bikes as long as they are stock - no extra gas tanks.  Thye have one catagory for v-Twins, and another for "all others" I wold assume that is us.

This time they will be covering 2 countries (Mexico, US, and Canada) with 48 States - AUG 2011.   And the route will be mostly secondary roads, with very little Interstate.  Everyone has to sleep outside tent or sleeping bag with their bikes, no motels, and they are being very careful with the 'rules'.   Sounds interesting, but as you said, it is salty - $1,000 entry fee.  And you would need the month off to do it.  Not many of us can afford the time or the cash.   Just a fantasy  Cheesy
