I know I am biased, but I still think that is the one of the best-ever motorcycle commercials ever. Puts the current crop of "guy-driving-slowly-by-gawkers" on a Fury to shame!

I can't get it to play here, but if it is the one I remember, I was laying in ICU, hoses in every opening and fighting for my life due to some SAS = Stupid assed surgeon, attempt to do Quadruple bypass on me. The SO & kids tell me the next day a different Dr took me back into surgery and 5 days later I walked out of the hospital to go pick up MGM. MOM & kids had worked out a trade for MGM and my Ultra Glide.
Even rode MGM home. Ownership papers in da saddlebag.
Week later was on the road, 39,000 (69 days) later, I was back home, happy as a lark and a CC bill of close to $2,500. I lost track of the rear tires count on that trip. Think the least mileage was like 5,500 and the max was about 8,000.
Every firkin rear tire would put me up for a day. A Yamaha dealer, I don't remember the town or state, over on the East Coast, like Vermont, NH somewhere close, but he mounted me a car tire. Presto, never went off them till I went to Alaska and no one would put one on MGM, so back to a bike tire, what a rude awakening that was.

I know I am biased, but I still think that is the one of the best-ever motorcycle commercials ever. And when I saw that I said to myself .... "DAMN, I gotta get me one of those!" And eventually I did ... 2001 Interstate.

Yup, I remember...
Ironically enough, I didn't see it until well AFTER I'd bought my Valk though!

The quality of the video stinks, but I think this might be the one you're looking for (I had it saved locally, just uploaded it to YouTube)

Yup, Never thought I be owned by one but I lucked out, BIG TIME. The wife and I thought one up they could have done, as follows; Scene opens with fighter jets streaking across the sky. Fighter pilot 1, Hey did you see that guy down there, he was riding a Valkyrie. Fighter pilot 2, Lets go down and get a closer look. Expand at your lesiure. You do realize, I drive a truck and forklift for reasons other than supporting my riding habits.

While I don't remember the commercials, I do remember seeing them in '97 in the showroom of a client's Honda dealership. I didn't have a bike then, and it had been 30 years since I had been on one, and that was only a 650 (BSA Lightning). I remember thinking that the Valk looked like WAY too much bike for me. I then went through two smaller v-twins before getting my Valk. I wish now that back then I had just sat on one and lifted it off the sidestand, which would have led to taking one for a ride. I'd have had 13 more years of motorcycling bliss!

I was sitting at a bar with a buddy... rode in on my Shadow and he on his Magna. Saw that bike sliding through the dirt and was thinking... "Are you f%&$ing kidding me? No way. You can't do that on that big bike." Well, after a couple trips to the Honda Hoot, test rides on many types of bikes and visits to the local dealer from time to time... he now has a Std and I've got an I/S. And yeah, you can do that on the best moto ever made. RiderNJ

My Initial Response to this was, who the heck will buy a stripped down Gold Wing.
Where is the nitch it would fill.
Well a lot of people had the same response and they did not fly off the shelves into Garages.
But now they have found a following and the best part of the people that ride
them are not stuck up asswipes like the majority who ride the brand we shall not name.
They are Joe Blow down the road and Henrietta Normal and they are nice people on
these bikes Honda made in America.

Same here, '67 BSA 650 Lightening. Bought it used from a neighbor in '93.

I remember it! When I first saw it, I wasn't even thinking about buying another bike. About a year later or so I started looking. I looked at everything, wanted something comfortable, yet sporty but wasn't decided on anything. I almost bought a Harley, but went into the Honda dealer south of Raleigh, NC...walked around and saw my first black I/S...and bought it!!! I remember thinking that is different! What a wonderful memory...
