Thanks for some help people.

My Valkyrie IS is written off, and I'm getting it back for parts. I'm considering mover the IS trunk and radio over to my Shadow ACE Tourer, looks realy sharp with the Valk trunk.

Scroll down to the second post of the red (burgundy) ACE with the Valk trunk.

What I want to do, IF possible, is to remove the radio controls from the bars, and remove sound system wires from the Main Wire Harness, which is why I think they are wrapped within. This would be for the controls, speakers, antenna, and radio.

Do all I have to do is unwrap the main harnes and sepparate the sound system wires from it?

I would do this after the bike is dismantled.

That Shadow looks good as a tourer!  Since you will have the old harness, you can take the harness apart and salvage the wires you need. Be sure you document the disassembly well, there may be some connections that don't follow color coding. Example could be, wiring to a switch where the assembly was purchased and the switch manufacture had a different color code.

That is pretty much what I thought. Follow the control wires through the harnes to the radio, separate and label. Same with the left/right front speakers (will mount in the trunk), and the mains going into the radio, along with the antenna.

One other question I forgot. I had heard that the trunk color was a sicker. I didn't look close enough to notice, and don't have the trunk on hand.

Is this true? Thinking a straight black trunk will match my Black/Cream ACE Tourer better than the blk/red.

Just found this, looks like a sticker rather than paint to me.

How are you going to address the matter of the radio's digital display...rather, the lack thereof? It's part of the I/S' instrument cluster. This is by far your biggest hurdle, and a simple chop of said cluster may not be all that's required to get the display to work.

As you previously indicated: You'll also need to separate part of the OEM harness in order to get at the control lines, speaker and power lines.

The two-tones were painted...not stickered.

OMG! I never thought about that!!

Hmmmmm !?1?!? I don't know, any ideas? It sounds like this may be a No-Go at this time. Piwall does have a damaged cluster, but I think the display was broken. I play with electronics.

Sounds like I could still use the trunk for their speaker pods, wiring will be after market, and put an MP3 pob type sound system in.
