Damon is going under the knife this morning for surgery on his leg and knee.  It seems the rod in his leg is a little too long and it interferes with his knee bending.  It should be day surgery.

Tell Damon we'll be thinking of him and that I hope he'll be more careful next time he involves himself in risky activities such as going to the mailbox.   Shocked

Update from Harper (Misfit's 3 year old):

Dad's leg is broke and she doesn't know why it's broke.
But she's taking care of him and he's the best Dad in the whole world.  angel

Thanks for all of the well wishes. It means alot to know that there are so many good folks on my side. The rod is still too long and will be unless they take it out. It did not slip. It is screwed to the bone in four places. It does not bother me until I get on my knees and then it is trying to poke out through the front of my knee. They did some repair work that I should of had done long ago. Before the bones in my leg gave way it twisted the knee pretty bad. Tore some stuff loose and just generally jacked it up. Hows that for medical terms? At the time they repaired my leg they said that it would be too much to do the knee at the same time. I was supposed to go back after the leg healed but once I was clear of there I haven't been back. To tell you the truth I have not been to physical therapy or rehab for the leg yet. I was schedualed to do that back in Febuary. Once I was up and around I just went back to work and never looked back. The insurance co. has been hounding my wife to try and finalize this mess so last week I came home from work and she said you have a doctors app. in the morning at 7 am. That was last Wednesday. The doc said we need to get this done now so Monday morning I was in the sugery center at 6 am. He said this time he is not going to let me off of the hook on the rehab so I will be starting that sometime soon. He says I can go back to work in two or three weeks. I am shooting for the day after tomorrow. Thanks again for all of the kind thought and phone calls. You folks are the BEST!  cooldude
