Went to Auto Zone, they don't seem to have a replacement fuse for the 55 amp fuse. Does anyone have the details on a generic replacement?

I went through this a few months ago.  None of the parts stores carried it or could get it.  Allegedly it was used in mid 70s to early 80s Civics, so I went to the Honda car dealer.  Again no luck.  I ended up going to the stealer to get mine and bought every one they had at 95 cents each.  I have heard Carquest parts stores can still get them but I don't know.

Yep, that's it. 1975-1982 Civic.
That will help I think. If nothing else I can order them on line. Or maybe swap it out for something more compact.
Thanks

So you can order up the actual "dog bone" fuse, without replacing the whole thing.

I had no luck, do you know if they have a 30 Amp replacement one also? For GW GL1100 and others. Seems the fuse breaks. Recommendation is to replace with an aftermarket blade fuse and holder. Cheaper and easier to replace a blown fuse, but no longer stock and also need to wire it in (work/tools).

Now that you have the part number, I entered that into google search and it came up with more and newer Honda models that still use that same fuse for their horn.

After forgetting to disconnect the battery when replacing the alternator ( tickedoff Embarrassed ) I went to the Local NAPA store, took the old fuse with and they matched it in a parts book. 55A, and they had it the next morning.

Inside the cover for that main fuse should be the spare. All three of my Valks (97 tourer, 2000 standard and 2001 I/S) had the spare fuse, RoadKill's '98 tourer does as well. (I found the spare while reassembling everything after the install  Roll Eyes

I know this is an old topic but wanted to help anyone doing a search.

I just got 3 from my local Honda car dealer. They ordered them yesterday.

Packet of 3 for $5.35.
