Got one and it never jams and has a Life Time Warranty, no matter who owns it.
It is a little ticklish on field stripping, like the problem you had.
Lucky 13 field stripped mine before I shot it for the first time and he figured it out.
I look at Internet Videos that shows someone else stripping a weapon before I try.
This is the same procedure I use everytime I buy a new firearm.
Or If it's been a while since I last field stripped a weapon after a range round.
Compact Hammerless and full safety is a good weapon.
I believe I will keep mine.
Shoot it for a while, it may grow on yah.

Sig fan here Al, particularly the older P220 in .45acp and the P229 and P239 in 357Sig. If you get a chance and if you see any 357Sig ammo I'd be curious as to what the dealers are asking for it. I can regularly find Speer Lawman 357Sig on gunbroker for $325 a case and that's the best deal I've found. Magtech .45acp ammo can regularly be found at my favorite gun store for $19.00 a box.
Have fun and report back on what you found, liked and didn't like.

Im with Serk. Absolutely the most dependable firearm I own is my XD. Ive got 2 Glocks, some 1911s... All have failed me at some point. Even my wheel guns. The XD has just ran and ran. Ive shot literally about 8 or 9 thousand rounds through it and even with a broken ejector, it still kept running.
It has never had a single malfunction.
Its the only weapon I have that I can say that about. Not saying I dont like the Glocks etc ... I do, but they have malfunctioned on occasion.

I bought a Rock Island Armory 1911 with a 3.5" barrel, in .45 ACP at the last gun show at the Knoxville Civic Center on Clinton Highway 5-6 weeks ago. Had to really search thru the vendors to find one, but I finally picked one up new in the box for $409 with a spare 7-round mag thrown in. I carried one just like it for my last five years on the job before retirement.

Terry, I'm on my way to "Shoot-Straight" in Tampa this morning. (Huge Sale) I paid $369.00 for a Ruger LCP several months back. They have them on sale for $279.00. Can't beat that price. I'm getting a second one for my wife. Now I'm gonna take a closer look at the Springfield Armory. I've hated my 1911 series 70 Combat Commander for way too long. I have over 500 rounds of .45 ammo, so I need another .45 I was leaning towards the Glock, although I have heard a lot of controversial conversation about them. Not just here, in my gun folk circles too. I have never heard anyone that has fired or owns a Sprinfield Armory XD in any caliber say anything negative about the gun.

Bersa 380 CC Carry stays on inside my waist at most all occasions.
Started to rust a little on the bolt that hold my grips on.
that shows you how much I carry it.
Have it on right now.
A little TLC and all is good.
how is your exp. Fudgie on reliability of that weapon???
have not really checked into that part much as I have only shot the thing about ten times and it
functions.
Need to put about 500 rounds through it now that the ammo is availlable.

Well, all you semi auto fans.......I have shot many from 9mm up to the 1911 .45 marksman competition grade. Fine weapons, I wouldnt spend the money for less than a .45 either, although I have heard good things about the .40 and Im sure the type of ammo will make a huge difference. I have a agreat shoulder holster for my .357 and it conceals very well. I still prefer it over any of the semi autos, but thats just me With all that said, I have fired near 100 rounds now from the .500. Its deffinitely NOT a concealed carry weapon unless you are the size of a grizzly bear, but to take out a wild animal or an armored plated intruder........Id hate to face one of these. I just got some heavier rounds that are double jacketed for Hunting. A friend of mine has a few acres and he has a wild hog problem.......yeeeeeeehaaaaaa!!!!!!

Good thing about that .500, if you run out of ammo you can use it like a club!

Very good. For the price you cant beat it. I have the Thunder Plus. 15 rd mag and one in the pipe. I have shot approx 100 rds so far, before ammo was availible. Only one minor issue. Had to hold up on clip to fire. Dropped out the clip and looked into grips to see the safety spring. Bent that out a little and all has been well. Or you can remove it, see Jess's post from a few months ago. Mine also has rust on one of the screws. I have Remington Golden Sabors for defense rounds. Blows the $hit outta pumkins. As far as accuratcy it was dead on when I bought it. Not sure about how far since I only practice at about 20' from target. Its a bitch to find a good holster. Well it is for me cause I am left handed. Fobus dont make them yet and I havent seen a good molded holster yet. Guess I could do like in the old west and carry butt forward.

Thanks for the come back or info there Fudgie.
I have not had the safety on the magazine problem yet.
But I have not fired the weapon that many times and will look into that.
Bama Red, that Rock Island Armory looks like a pistol I would really like to own.
Do they still make that model and are they reliable?
