Just purchased an 05 F-150 and would like to get the bed done.  Any ideas what it costs?

Thanks,

In 2008 it was $380 for my F-150. LineX is what I got. I think it is a better product than Rhino. Most of the dealers are independent and usually you can negotiate with them. Mine was almost $450 when I started. Times are tough and they are looking for business.

My poor little trailer is looking so rough with rock dings and pits I've been seriously considering having it coated with bed liner. Just can't get over the hump on it though. Nice shinny black or tough stuff that can take the road better?

Popeye, I think Rhino liner looks better (stays black, Line X turns greyish), lasts longer, and is thicker than Line-X, but it also costs more (at least a little) .

The real issue is how you will use your truck.  Rhino lining is like soft rubber, and it keeps stuff in the bed in place, but it can really be a big PITA to push/slide heavy items in and out of the bed.... real heavy stuff may not slide at all.  Line X is a very good protector, and things in the bed can much more easily be slid around, heavy or not.  I am no expert, but I think most people who will work their truck prefer Line X, and those of us who just drive one around and use the bed a couple times a year (like me) like Rhino.

My buddy did a Rhino Liner (or knock off similar brand) in his jeep, so I know they make a do it yourself kit. When my wife gets the body work done on her F100  project, we're going to have someone do the bed and maybe the lower interior of the cab just to keep it Ford tough. I wonder if my wife will use the do it herself kit?

I HIGHLY recommend Line-X. I had my beloved F250 done right after I bought it. After 5 years, kinda halfway between hard commercial use & light duty use it still looked like new. Rocks, mulch, engines, junk, garbage, dirt, you name it was hauled in that bed! It cost $440 in 2003 to do the 8 foot bed & tailgate over the sides style.
I have several friends do Rhino & the DIY kits. The Rhino holds up OK but looks poor, chalks out in the Florida sun. The DIY kits look real bad, half missing, peeling & chipping in the same period of time.
No association with Line-X, just a VERY good experience with it!

I called the store closest to me.  I can get it done for $489.

I am in no position to do it myself right now, just had rotator cuff surgery.

Thanks for all the replies.

You can get a bedliner for a 100.   And the tape up the tailgate seam and fill it with water on a hot day!!
I have seen the products chip off.. You need a good  installation or it will look like ^#&,
I also agree with the texture issue. some of these products fade and dont come clean.
The Line X is shinny and easy to clean..

Do you know any one else that might want to get it done with you.  My father in law and I went in together and got a heck of a deal.  They did both of the trucks at the same time on one invoice for $380 each.

Look into The BedRug.  I am happy with mine.

The BedRug, all it is is a RUG.

Get wet, and takes a whole lot of time to dry, supposedly supposed to be waterproof, but my 92 Dakota, the floor rusted out.

So, I have gone Rhino, Line-X and a couple of other different ones.

The one that looked the best after some hellish torture was Turbo Liner.   I just called them and a F-150 Ford under the rail is $439.

When I did my Dodge, they didn't have a sprayer.     So I went down the street to Line-X.

If I do it again in another truck, it will be a Turbo liner.   Nice thick layer and can't chip, scratch or destroy it in any way shape or form.

I've had my BedRug for 3 years, no sign of rust at all.  It does get wet when it rains but does not hold water.  Mayhaps I have a newer model, don't know but I much prefer the looks and performance over spray in liners IMHO, YMMV.
