"Under the new pat-down technique, TSA security officers use their palms and fingers to probe for hidden weapons and other devices. In the past, officers used the backs of their hands to brush past sensitive body parts, including breast and groin areas."

If you put an aluminum foil smiley face down your pants would it show up as a smiley face on the full body scan?

Just a thought,

additional radiation. already some reports coming out it will increase a persons chances of getting skin cancer or other cancers. The units have never been tested for safety and long term effects. follow the money of the politicians that approved the use of the naked body scanners.
The medical community tells people to limit the number of X-rays u get every yr and now for frequent travelers they will be getting zapped numerous times in a month.
just research this for oneself.

Try flying in Europe.

It is a hell of a lot better than the US.  Even truly uglified airports like Heathrow can't hold a candle to the TSA morons in Los Angeles.

I am finding it hard to believe, but you and I are on the same wave length on this subject.

I travel all over the world... OK, not South America... and without question, the TSA is absolutely the worst in every way.  (TSA = Thousands Standing Around).  Ignorant oafs with a badge, given far too much power for too little reason.

C'mon... you want to blow up an airplane?  There are a hundred different ways to do it that don't require anything special of the passenger.  The recent cargo flights are an example... and guess what... nearly every passenger flight carries cargo.

I absolutely DESTEST the TSA.  I've been treated much better in China, in the Middle East, and in any civilized country than I have by this bunch of moronic nincompoops.

As a frequent flier in the late 70's, I became disgusted with airports.  Now, I refuse to fly.  If I needed to get from Idaho to Florida or anywhere else, I would ride my Valk but I will NOT fly.

CA:  This modern world must be a confusing and frightening place for you.  You seem to latch on to any conspiracy theory d’ jour, and promote it as proof that the government or some other boogieman is out to get you.  With every new post like this, you are starting to make Chicken Little look like an intrepid explorer!   Shocked

my suggestion would be to lease a private jet and fly into an uninhabited mountain. if you'd like to die go ahead, but, if your flying on a plane with me, i'd like to know there are no weapons on it. tickedoff

I would rather every one know there is a weapon in every wasteband. Hijackers die before mission is complete and no 72 virgins for them!

Like many others I no longer fly for several reasons, TSA is one. Stupidity is another.

The solution to the problem is not to disarm everyone so that only the bad folks have bombs or knives or guns.

Arm everyone that wants to be armed and hi-jacking flights will be a thing of the past.
And there will be fewer surviving bad folks for the courts.
Bullet proof bulkheads for the pilots would be a plus.

As for the bomb makers, luggage scans and dogs and sniffers galore(fine) and no one places or ships anything on a plane they do not fly on.

Just a few helpful NON-PC suggestions that would go a long way.

ah! but if you go though the machine and have a bionic knee YOU WILL BE PATTED DOWN.
unless some places still use the wand, but I heard they no longer use the wand.

a terrorist farts and we all pay for  rapidly more absurd 'security measures'   someone on 60 minutes calls it 'security theater' entertaining but does it really catch anything?
