Congrats. It was 31 for me and mine last July. I love to hear about those loooooong term marriages.
I know in  my case she's the best thing that ever happened to me. And I can't even take credit for a good decision. I just got lucky that inside the hot little blond body that caught my eye, was the incredible woman who would bless the rest of my life.

Congratulations.

My wife and I are on 29 right now, 28th behind us.

And she still has not shot, beatup, or taken away my remote.

Oh well.

Congratulations to you both on your 45th.  Long marriages like that take dedication on the part of both partners. cooldude

Big Guy, I really enjoyed your video slide presentation.  You are indeed fortunate that your wife didn't mind pictures.  Pachebel's rondo was an especially good choice in music as a good marriage goes round and round and each round becomes more special and ingrained to both spouses.  Your video is proof of your marriage ties.

My wife and I would've been married 55 years on November 5th if she had lived. I have very few pictures of her as she didn't allow it.

Again Art and your spouse, Congratulations!

Solo1:
I'm sorry to hear that you're alone now. It sounds as though you had a good marriage. I hope those memories sustain you.
My wife never liked having her photo taken, but I do it anyway. In more recent years she surprised me by actually posing for me. I have one of her with me at all times now.

It actually looks better in the flesh. Sharon asked me what would happen if something happened to her and I got remarried. I said, "She'd better like your picture."
Even if something were to happen to her, I'd still go to my grave as her husband. I just can't think of myself any other way. It's just not likely I'd get remarried. There can only be one "love of my life," and she's already filled that spot. It just wouldn't be fair to another person. I could fall in love again, but never like that.
The only way I can see another marriage would be to a widow who also lost the love of her life. Maybe the two of us could be with each other for our remaining years, but understand that the once in a lifetime connection to another soul has already taken place.

WOW. I've just turned a happy subject dark. Somebody shut me up.
