Anyone have experience / knowledge / recommendation for either of these two home thermostats ?  Thinking about replacing my current programmable (LUX) with one of these two and looking for info on either or both.

TIA  cooldude

we've got a honeywell programable thermostat, i hate it!!  i liked the old mercury switch thermostats, dial it to what you want, and it stayed there!!  took only a fraction of a second to "reprogram"!!  thanks to some wacko ex-governer, they're all outlawed in the state so you've got to go across the boarder to get one, kinda like when you wanted to buy margerine in this state!! I have a Honeywell.   My step dad (RIP buddy) was a Heating and Cooling repair man.

He happened to be over about 18 or so years ago, and the old thermostat bite the ghost.

He went to Home Depot, bought this one and installed it.

It is programmable. It works like a champ.

If it should take a trip South, I'll get another Honeywell

I had a new total unit installed in the spring, 95% eff., to get tax credit.  Wink Installer did not have Thermostat on the truck so he went to Lowe`s and bought a Honeywell , RTH6300B. I think I`m HAPPY with it.  Roll Eyes Last months gas bill ; Avg. temp,60.1, days 28, ccf use 18.0 ; same mo. last yr. , temp 52.6, days 28, ccf use 36.0. You can see ccf use was half with almost same conditions. I have Honeywell set at 60 @ night , Goes up to 68 @ 6 am , drops to 66 @ 8 am , up to 68 @ 6 pm , drops to 60 @ 11 pm. Looks like I will save a lot with new unit and the Honeywell.   Grin
