After a LONG HOT summer, finally some good riding weather.  39 degree's to start and ended up around 75 or so.  Had to wear the jacket all day, but unlike some of our brothers and sisters farther North, the weather is just getting right for riding here.

WOW! It sure was good to go kick some tires with my buds down in Florida again!!! And, it sure was good to dine on some fine swine at BBQ Bill's again too!!! One of my favorite BBQ places that I don't get to frequent as much as in the past... I live a tad farther away nowadays, ya know...

Anyway, many of the 'old timers' from the days when I regularly showed up for those famous Florida Q runs were there, but it turned out I actually knew less than half the folks there... I infer from that that the tradition is still going strong, and that new riders are coming along to replace those of us who have moved on.

I saw Mark and Pat, too... first time in quite a few years! They are the ones who really made the Q gatherings work, and their contribution is ongoing, strong and true... Thanks Mark and Pat! Of course, Terry and Iris are a couple of the 'spark plugs' that also made things go so well, and it was really nice to hang out with them some!

Napper and I had ridden down Friday with plans to stay on Cedar Key... but that didn't work out after all. We got as far as Chiefland, and there we decided to call it a day. So, our ride to the Q on Saturday was all of a half mile or so!!! Even then we weren't the first to arrive! We'd also planned to stop for a night at Apalachicola on the return leg, but that didn't work out either. I suppose we'll just have to go back to Florida and do it again...

The reason we didn't make it to Apalach was due to our late departure from BBQ Bill's parking lot. We were having so much fun, we ended up being the last to leave. Just as we were putting on our helments, my old Canadian bud, Gil Pellitier, and three of his pals pulled into the parking lot!

Gil had previously committed to do a ride up towards Jacksonville with the Retreads, but that ended early, so those stalwart souls rode about a hundred miles out of their way to try to make it before any of us left! Well, you can imagine how that cost us another hour or so, so Apalach was out of the question... Oh well, it was a perfect way to end our short stay back below the banks of the Swannee River, and I wouldn't change a thing! Thanks to all for a great time!!!

I'm really bummed I missed out on this one as it was practically in my back yard.   Cry

Thanks for posting the pics and sharing a few details of the day so that I could virtually join in on the time that was had.

Hopefully next go-around I'll be able to attend.

Temps similar to our Savannah ride this weekend... thanks for posting the pics of all the Valkyries...
