BIBLE JUST READ IT.

How many have truthfully read the entire Bible.

Before you comment think about it.

I have read the whole Bible and the New Testament about 20 times.

Never get tired of it.

I've read it all the way thru 2 or 3 times. I mainly read in the New Testament
now, but I keep finding good stuff in the Old also.

The Old Testament is within the New Testament revealed
The New Testament is within the Old Testament concealed

Yep, I have.  Some parts are extremely boring.  The rest is very confusing to say the least, too many contradictions.  Not my favorite book to read.

Guesstimate about 1/3 - 1/2 including random chapters here and there. It's quite handy to have an OED around when things get confusing. The English language changes and quite a few words had different meanings in the 15th century when King James had the Bible translated to English. The OED documents different usages through the centuries and looking up some words has cleared up a few things for me that made no sense given current usage. The prose is beautiful.

There are now quite a few complete and searchable versions available online...free of course Smiley

One of the first I found some years back:

Name a couple of those contradictions. I'm not aware of any. Maybe somebody here
can 'splain them to you.

I knew a man once who was all excited about learning greek and hebrew so he could get down to the basics and understand each word as it was written, He studied for years and finally learned it all.

When he was done he reliazed that you meet the same Jesus in greek and hebrew as you do in english! cooldude

I have tried, but it's very very hard for me to read and focus on.

If the bible interpreted itself... why are there so many interpretations?

I know... everyone else's is WRONG.

For anyone who is serious about studying the Bible and understanding
what they read here is a web site where you can download not only
the Bible itself but many good commentaries as well.

http://www.e-sword.net/

It is free and well worth the time and effort if you really want to know God
and His will for your life.

I read it, study it, practice it and teach it on a regualr and ongoing basis. Our church offers a 4 year fully acredited bible school as well as a 3 year non-acredited bible school. Our 4 year bible school is taught in several countries on multiple continents. Our church is a Spirit filled missions oriented non-denominational church where bible doctrine, not church doctrine is preached, taught and lived out.

I have a wonderful pastor, Rev. Edward Weiss, who also has a wonderful pastor, Dr. Mark T Barclay, who also has a wonderful pastor in George Evans and Hilton Sutton among others. My pastor's pastor is Dr. Mark T Barclay. Dr. Barclay, in addition to his church in Midland, MI is also a pastor to many, many pastors accross North America and around the world.

All the best,

Mark

How about you? Tell us of a couple of contradictions.

P.S.  Maybe you should try reading the New Testament. That's where God's
Word is spread to the "non-Jews".

It really depends on what the term "Read" you are implying.    I read a lot in school many books, etc.  But, I must confess I didn't comprehend or retain very much of it.  I would read books cause I was "suppose" to and to pass the class.  Once the class was over then I moved on.

The Bible on the other hand.  I don't read it.  I chew on it, study it, question it and learn from it.  My mission isn't to read it from cover to cover rather I want to apply what I read and understand more....

With all do respect my comment is not met to offend anyone rather I just wanted to point out that their is two ways of reading.

Oh.... and good job Al.   I will watch your future posts maybe I can learn something that I hadn't known or read before.

Yeah, as far back as Genesis. But He wasn't actually 'here' to fulfill
the promise yet in the Old.

All things were made by, for and through Jesus, in the OT and the NT. The 6 days of creation...Jesus. Creation of man in their (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) image...Jesus. The voice in the burning bush for Moses...Jesus. The ark building instructions for Noah...Jesus. And so on, and so on.

Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega. The beginning and the end. He wasn't only their at the beginning and will be at the end. He IS the beginning and the end.

Contradiction claims by those who don't know or understand the Bible...who cares, why consider it for an instant.

All the best,

Mark

Whats the diff between the OT & NT?

One has a pissed off cranky God (Whom I think may have been married too long, no flames please - it's a joke)

The other has a happy go lucky forgiving god who is more than happy to pass the family buissiness on to his kid and finally free him up from his obligations after the Divorce and truly enjoy His retirement.

(Again, it's a joke people. Take a DEEP breath and chuckle or move on. Don't care)

Nice try. Classic, puerile attempt. Any beginning student of philosophy knows that the rebuttal of such a question is that the two conditions cannot exist -- at least not according to our mortal understanding. Even a beginning student of philosophy would reject the question out of hand as impossible and irrelevant.

You mean you are not.

Last communication I got from you was and I quote."I pisseth upon you sir" end quote.

That is a guy who thinks he is above it all.

God used some very simple people to get his message across to do one thing.

Confound the so called wise people, so they would have to humble themselves before him to

get right with him , just like the rest of us, before it is too late.

No disrespect intended and have a nice day.

If you really want an answer, which I seriously doubt, you should direct your question directly to God. If you could bring yourself to that point of humbleness, I'm sure God has been waiting for a conversation with you.

2Ti 2:24  The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged,
2Ti 2:25  with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,
2Ti 2:26  and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.

Isn't that last line so good.  Grin
