we've got a little area out in front of our house that used to be a flower bed the flowers were hibiscus. the cold killed them last year (in florida, go figure) and wifey wants to go with a no  maintenance type of rock garden. we went to the landscaping place and the fellow showed us some real nice river rock called "autumn", he got some water said it looks better when wet. I said 'this would be good for a water feature'  and intantly regretted it. my wife looked at me and the light bulb over her head was about the size of a basketball. what have I gotten myself into? uglystupid2

sounds like you're getting a fountain!!  those hibiscus were probably easier to take care of, other then freezing!!

i thought you had a story about doing something stupid, like yelling at your neighbor for his dog crapping in your yard.  had that happen to me last week.  wife was pretty mad at me for having him come over to clean it up.  (yeah, i am a prick.)

Been there Musclehead.  I have yet to control my "thinking out loud" when it relates to projects.

Example:  From time to time we had discussed remodeling the bathroom. It was about 2:30pm on a saturday, just finished yard work, sat down and had one of those "think out loud" moments.  I said "gee, I wonder how eazy that wallpaper will come off?"  In less than a second, my wife was into that room tearing the paper off.

Yeah, I'll never figure that out either. When I tell the people doing the dog crap walk past the house that every dog I've ever owned was trained to go in the same spot ONLY at home, they look at me like I'm nuts. I can remembe as a kid, my Boxer would be out roaming the 'hood(no leash law in a farm town), but if she had to drop a load she would run home. Every dog I've owned was trained to go in our yard in one specific spot....usually a far corner for obvious reasons. A couple times a week I'd spread some white stuff on it(can't remember the name) and wash it into the ground with the hose. Really never smelled bad at all. One neighbor I had some 30 yrs. ago had his sprinkler system hooked up to a remote in the house. He also had large sprinklers placed out near the sidewalk and the curb. When he saw someone walking their dog and stopping to let them crap in his yard, he'd hit the remote and they got an instant shower. Here in Orange County, local law says you're supposed to clean up after your dog but not everyone does. I think the remote control on the sprinkler is a great idea, just have to get it past my wife.

I have to disagree with ya on the poop call. I would never own a dog where I had to walk it, sit outside and watch it, or not be able to let it out for hours without worrying. Its so funny watching people pick it up with their grocery bag hand. No way. I let my dog out to go and he does it in one area in the winter. Come spring it looks like a dirt mound. Rake it to the garden. All others get run over by the mower. Let the dog out at 7a and back in the house at dark. We live on a highway and he know not to go to the road. He goes out and runs fences and watch the animals. Guess its good to live in the country. Plus any strays get shot.  Evil
