Can anyone put their I/S on the centerstand by themselves? I'm not Hercules but I'm in pretty good shape for my age laugh but I just can't seem to pick the big girl up. I've picked up big girls before.........well I'm not going there. 2funny Anyway I know that Rivco sold a lift bar for the standards and tourers, but i don't think theres one for the I/S. Theres just not a good handhold on the I/S without being in an awkward position. I've been thinking of making some kind of strap to go around the back footpeg to get the right leverage. I have the rails around my bags but I don't want to pull on them that hard.

I used to do exactly that, I used a soft tie (double loop tie strap) wraped around the rear peg mount.

Thanks SCain. I knew I was on the right track. I'm tall and I am stooped over in an awkward position and have fear of pulling my back so I really have not put everthing I have into it. I'm not retired yet. laugh  I lift my V65 up with ease, but he's only around 700 lbs. I have had to humble myself a little bit and admit I wasn't as strong as I thought. I would rarely put it on the stand anyway. I took it off with intentions of selling it but decided to put it back on. As far as it being dangerous I'm not a peg scraper anyway. I do have concerns of it warping the cross member. When she settles on the stand that is a lot of force. Thanks for your replys.

Do you not have the grab rail onthe left side near the rear seat?  I would think that's necessary.  I've never put mine up without using it.

Sorry, but I found it to long to read the above posts, so here is a video of how to get your bike up on the center stand.

http://goldwingdocs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=529

I can't reach to the frame (no grab rail), so I have a 1" flat block of wood I drive on first, to make the lifting easier, raise the bike, and remove the wood.
