By special, I mean SPECIAL.
When I originally decided to go see the Valk Tourer in the Birmingham area, I wanted someone to come along with me, so they could drive the truck back and I could ride the Valk, if I bought it.
My wife was unable to go with me and I had decided to just take my trailer and load the bike up and trailer it back if I bought it.
The day before I was to go see it, I get a post in my thread from a member volunteering to drive down with me so I could be in the wind on the way home. Here's the catch and what makes this member special - He lives in south Alabama and was going to drive up here to Fayetteville that evening, get himself a motel room, ride with me down to the bike the next day and bring my truck back and then turn around and drive back to south Alabama - all out of his own pocket!!
It didn't work out because I was too late in seeing his post and being able to get back in touch with him in time for things to come together. My nephew volunteered to go, but I just decided to take the trailer in the end cause I just didn't want to take a chance on something going wrong at 75 MPH on I-65 on the way back to Fayetteville.
So - DDT, you are The Man, a class act. Stand up and take a bow, Pard! I'll ride with you anytime.

So how is it in Fayetteville these days? Have/had relatives that live/lived there by the name of Hickson. Lived on West College. I haven't been there in years, but still remember the Courthouse in the middle of the square.

Capt., I'm gonna guess that you wouldn't find a dime's worth of difference between the last time you were here and today. The courthouse is still the same, the Magnolia Mall on the west side of the square still sells marbles by the pound to kids of all ages from their four ton supply of marbles!! The two pool halls on the south side square still compete for the best slawburgers around and Carter's Pharmacy and City Hall still take up most of the east side square. And, best of all, its only a fifteen minute scoot to Lynchburg, TN, home of the Jack Daniels Distillery!!
