remember the shoe bomber richard reid? (I remember that smug smile from his mug shot, I'd like to wipe that smile off his face with 80 grit sand paper) anywho how long was it after that failed attempt did we have to start taking off our shoes? a few weeks? a month?

the underwear bomber was last Christmas so why haven't we had these enhanced pat downs going on for months? I've heard the lame excuse that they didn't have the scanners in place so they couldn't offer flyers a choice but they started doing the patdowns nov 1st.

seems suspect to me, I'm just saying

Actually it was the next day on international flights.  I was in New Zealand getting ready to fly home the day after that happened.  They had 3 - 747 loads of passengers ( about 1200) heading back to Los Angles and we had to go through a seperate scanner for our shoes before we could get into the gate for our flight.

The scanning and pat downs started after the guy from China dawned the mask and played old man for his flight....

If anyone tells you different they are lying to you.

Also does anyone remember the plane that went down in Rockaway after 911 and they said it was a result of the planes taking off too close together....

Has all the makings of a shoe bomber...

IMHO....

That's a misunderstanding.

Most of us were taking off our shoes even before the "shoe bomber".  Many of our shoes have metal stays and would cause us to fail the walk through.

The last several flights I've been on and asked, the TSA operative told me that taking off my shoes was purely optional.  Of course, the one time I tried leaving them on I failed the walk through and got to take them off for the wand scan.

The parents of an attorney I see almost every day were on the plane that went down in Rockaway

The vertical stabilizer had broken and fallen off the plane unbelievable but true

Unless someone was riding the stabilizer like Slim Pickens on that H bomb it was  no shoe bomb that dropped that flight

You ever come up on a double length truck from behind you know what the wind can do to you even on a Valkyrie

I tell you what even us trucks feel the buffeting when another truck cuts too close in front of us
