I purchased the Stebel Horn recently. I read some posts about mounting it under the bike and I was wondering if someone who has done this could either post a picture or give me detailed instruction on where and how they mounted theirs. TIA. Hef

Do you have an Interstate, or "other"? I put mine in one of the Interstate's pods.

First thing - throw away the crap relay that comes with the horn and buy a better one. You should wire the stebel with a relay as it draws 18 amps on startup. I mounted mine on the left side of the bike, so I can't be much help for where you want to mount it.

When (if) my Rivcos go south, I will mount the Stabils in the same location they are. They are attached to the front hanger bolts for the mufflers. The other spot I have considered is the plate on the swingarm.

I have the Stebel Nautilus on my bike. It was there when I got it mounted on the right side of the motor. The first thing I did was move it. I mounted it underneath my bike using one of the bolts for the kick stand. There was a small piece of metal attached to it and the other end also had a hole to put a screw through. I drilled out the other end so the kick stand bolt would go through. It tucked perfectly in between the frame underneath. Make sure its away from where the swingarm moves. Works perfect, no problems. I'll try to take a picture for you. John

Here's mine mounted to the inboard bolt on the sidestand cross member. It's 2 pieces of 1.25" x 1.25" x .125" aluminum angle, bolted together, bolted to the bike, with a hole for the horn's mounting bolt.

Dave in Frisco mounted his under the bike like mine, except I used an "L" bracket from a hardware store and pop riveted it to the plate on the swingarm. An additional hole needed to be drilled for the horn mount. And a bit of the bracket wasn't needed, so I cut part of the bracket off. After 3 yrs and 3 trips cross country, it finally stopped working. After dropping on the floor a few times and some lube sprayed into the trumpets, it's back to normal.

I have mine in my right radiator pod..... but I have a question for those that have it underneath on or near the crossmember where the kickstand is.... How do you jack up your bike???? My old adapter would fit on that crossmember. I got the new adapter that stays mounted to the bottom of the bike now.

When I mounted mine, I installed my Valk adapter for my jack first. Then I mounted the horn so it doesnt interfere for me.

Yep, STEELERS is one up on me. No removing the horn to use the lift adapter. All I have to do, though, is loosen the bolt enough to lift the horn out and pull the two blade connected wires. The bracket does not have to come off and it only takes a few seconds.

May not be what you want to do but here is mine. looks ok to me but mine is the chrome model. If you look closely (its black and hard to see) I have a 12volt lighter socket right there next to the horn, yes the petcock switch is missing I am in the middle of a lighting project and a few other changes
